View Full Version : Does my Armalite AR need a Bulleton button?

So I have this Armalite AR and I'm wondering if putting a bullet button on it will make it legal? Or maybe going featureless? Whatever that is. Could you Calgunners help me out here? I'm really concerned about my AR being legal, I heard something about a list of guns that are banned but I heard about it at my local gun store. Everyone on here says gun store employee's can't be trusted so I'm not sure if that list is even real. Thanks in advance guys :)

Just kidding :D it's an AR-30. Sorry about the thread title, I just couldn't help myself.

Nice! I have one in .338 LM and love it. If you ever decide to get a different buttstock for it, then check out XLR Industries. They have some nice ones that work great on an AR30.

Who makes the grip you have on yours? I've been wanting to get something like that.

Ugh. Another newb. Look at the top of your screen for the AW flow chart. Learn it. Then do your own research and choose each individual part to build your AR. :)

Specs? Range report?

You're calling the guy a newb when you're the one who didn't bother to look at the image of the AR and read the "just kidding" line?

Unbunch your panties and get over it.

Oh really? If I'm the one who has their panties in a bunch, why were you so upset that you even had to send me a PM to complain about an interpretation of a smiley as if posting a reply here wasn't enough?

I sent you the exact thing I posted here. I'm not upset about anything. You're the one who takes this so seriously as to jump on people for not using the proper smiley face.

For those wondering the pm I sent was:

"Did you see the smiley face"

Yep I'm super upset.

OP I'm sorry to derail you're thread. When you get a chance please specs and a range report. Those rifles are interesting. I'm done here.

You need to you use some Miracle Grow and water it daily. If you do, it should grow up into a +34lb AR50.

It's an ergo AR-15 deluxe tactical pistol grip with palm shelf. I used a pair of normal scissors to slowly trim down the back strap to make it fit. It's such a huge improvement over the standard pistol grip. I'll have to check out the XLR series but at the moment the stock works for me.

Specs? Range report?

Stock AR-30 with an Ergo grip, Burris MTAC 6.5-20x50 sitting in an Armalite one piece mount, and a Harris bi-pod. At the moment with only 20 rounds down range it's a 1.5moa rifle. At the beginning it was all over the place but after a few coats of copper in the barrel the groups started to tighten up. I'm going to put about 50 more rounds down range then start testing it's accuracy.

SO all I'll need to make this happen is water and miracle grow?...this needs to happn, whats the worse that could happen it turns into a .338lapua?

It worked for me but, somehow my bolt started growing out the other side of the receiver. Go figure?

Just be careful, I watered mine when it was to close to my AR15 and..... Well, this happened:

at least my AR15 doesn't need a BB now.

But my AK's would think I'm cheating on them, especially my Krinkov. She is a very jealous young lady.

Bolt action rifles do not need a BB. They can have detachable mags, adjustable stocks, etc, etc. I spoke to a CA DOJ ATF agent about a BA rifle with all the features and bolt action rifles are not in the same category as AR's are. Your gun is perfectly legal in this state.

Bob,
It's not the water that did it. You just can't keep putting your guns in the dryer after you wash them.:p
