On a side note, I'm kind of disappointed in bcm. The upper I ordered had a daniel defense 7" light rail, but it doesn't say DD anywhere on it. Is it even DD, I dunno?

Well. not "out", just pull the bolt forward until it stops. The bolt pivot pin (the square-top pin) must be under the gas key.

Easy way, is to shake the carrier down with a flick of your wrist like you are shaking off water from the bolt. This "throws" the bolt forward in a snap.

based on the picture that square on the bolt carrier needs to be pulled forward and up.

First the charging handle needs to go on first. then pull it back 2 inches. then the bolt carrier group into the charging handle groove. then push both forward until it clicks.

make sure that square tab that was hitting the lower pulled to the middle of the bolt carrier group..

Move it, so that it aligned with the gas key, or pull the bolt out until it stops (which is the same thing) :)

OP.

Please, please, please.

Please.

Do not shoot that AR until you have the lower looked over by a qualified AR enthusiast or armorer.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what happens when you go on forums and tell first-timers that they should build their first AR rather than buying.

But now that the pics loaded you need to put the bolt forward.. So hold the back of the BCG and snap it down and let the bolt slide forward..

Of the crazy spikes thing that holes the case butt putt it forward which bring the tab thing getting in your way forward and out of the way.

Yeah, I figured that much once I saw the photo of your upper with the MBUS installed backwards.

I haven't read all the of the replies in this thread, but hold the bolt carrier in place and pull on the bolt, that should straighten out the cam pin. Put the charging handle in the upper first, then the gas key on the bolt carrier group rides inside the channel of the charging handle.

Got another question for you guys.

When I attach the upper to the front pivot pin, and then rotate back there is a small gap and I can't get it all the way down to get the rear pin in.

http://s7.postimage.org/5cj7548qf/20120928_191135.jpg

I can get it in by sliding the upper over the lower and then attaching the rear pin, and then I have to gently hammer down the front pin to get it to go in.

http://s17.postimage.org/945jj0qyz/20120928_191419.jpg

I have been looking around and have seen people with similar problems, and that it will loosen up over time. Just wanted some more opinions is that normal?

...and unlike 99 per cent of those who assemble their weapons, the 1 per cent can't get to arfcom or any other website, read the assembly instructions, and check the weapon out before firing.

AR15 assembly is not a big deal.

Try cocking the hammer before closing the upper.

mws314
09-29-2012, 10:14 AM
The hammer is cocked.

Safety works like it's suppossed to. The bolt locks back like it should, the bolt catch works as it should.

I actually already talked with the shop where i bought the lower, and they told me a tight fitting upper isn't uncommon, and that i can bring it in for them to look at, which I will do next weekend after I get a case.

Op, I'm guessing you have an issue with the buffer retaining pin being installed incorrectly, and that is keeping the upper from mating correctly with the lower.

Please, please, please have an armorer go over this rifle thoroughly and un**** it before use.
