View Full Version : WTB - AK Magazine Catch Swap
09-21-2012, 2:19 PM
I have an Arsenal SGL-23, that has a really crappy BB. I have to use this wrench on a arsenal wristband (WTF right?) to remove mags. I'd like to swap it for a 'normal' AK-47 mag catch and install another bullet button that I have. I'm looking for someone that can remove the existing BB, swap out and rivet a standard mag catch (if you have one, I'll buy it). I'm located in Irvine, would prefer someone within a 15 min radius. Please PM me and let me know how much you would charge. Thanks!

Do it yourself. It isn't that hard.

I'm sure could with a little guidance. But I'm not looking to buy tools for this one instance. If I do get a mag catch, would I need a rivet tool for this http://www.k-var.com/shop/AK-762BGR.html?

For both jobs, you don't need anything except a surface to use as an anvil (a vise or piece of steel), a hammer and possible a punch or two.

Looks like some dremeling is required before punching out the existing the SGL23 mag catch. I'll give it a shot before resorting to paying somebody to do it.
For others, here was a similar thread on the swap out - http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=456027
