I cant seem to find a buffer tube kit for my AR. I am looking for one that just comes with the buffer tube, buffer, and spring. It will be going on a Spikes lower so I was leaning towards the spikes kit but they say its for a "pistol". Will it still work?

It's not clear from the original post if this buffer tube kit is going to go on a rifle or a pistol. Can you clarify? We stock buffer tube kits for both rifle and pistol.

What kind of stock are you trying to run? That will determine what kind of recoil system you need..

There are 3 common tube configurations:
Pistol: smooth tube that can not accept a stock
Carbine: Multi-position shorter tube for carbine stock (ie M4)
Rifle: Longer slender smooth tube that's end accepts a screw to attach a fixed stock (ie A1, A2)

You can not mix rifle and carbine recoil parts:
Rifles tubes need rifle buffer, rifle springs, A1 or A2 screw, A2 spacer (if A2 Length)
Carbine tubes need carbine buffer, carbine spring, retainer plate, castle nut.

Don't try to use a carbine spring in a rifle system.
Or Don't try to use a rifle buffer in a carbine system
etc

Not to be confused that you can mix gas system and recoil types:
For example:
A Rifle Gas System can use a Carbine Recoil System
A Carbine Gas System can use a Rifle Recoil System

A Carbine Gas System can use a Carbine Recoil System
A Rifle Gas System can use a Rifle Recoil System

A Midlength Gas System can use a Rifle Recoil System
A Midlength Gas System can use a Carbine Recoil System

Sorry I should have mentioned I was looking for a carbine buffer tube system. I bought one a few hours ago tho. Thanks anyways!
