hi all. I was wondering if anyone in the Sacramento area has a set of go/no go gauges that I can borrow to check the headspace on my AR 308? I was at the range this weekend and was piercing/popping primers left and right and would like to check this to be sure its not the issue? If so, shoot me a PM. It would be much appreciated!

Blowing and piercing primers is an ammo problem not a headspacing issue.

Are you shooting reloads? What are the load details?

Thanks for the replies guys, but no need for it now. Sending the upper to Rainier so they can check out whats up with the barrel. FWIW its definitely not the ammo as it was several different kinds of factory ammo (FGMM 168, FGMM 175, Hornady 168, PPU 150, Black hills 168 & 175, and a few others).

Short headspace can and will hit pressure earlier.

Glad to hear Rainier is checking it for you the had a run of bad barrels awhile back you are not the first one I've read about. They will make it right.

Yea I came across a few threads about it myself. Yea, I have to say Rainier customer service is pretty bad ***!
