My Colt has a trigger pull of 5.5 lb at the factory. I wanted to reduce the pull a little bit.
Parts bought:
Cylinder and Slide Sear Spring
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/188154/cylinder-and-slide-sear-spring-1911
Cylinder and Slide Trigger Reduction kit
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/302636/cylinder-and-slide-trigger-pull-reduction-kit-1911-series-80

installation was a breeze and took me only 15 minutes to install the parts. No fitting required and they are just drop in parts. The reduction kit parts are coated with titanium nitride and very slick in texture. My trigger pull now is measured at 4 lbs! Reset has a very nice audible click and the pull is crisp. Can't wait for my range trip again.

And people say 80's series suck

Good job, I am glad you did it yourself.

Let use know how it works out at the range.

I have the trigger pins in my 1911's and I could tell a difference but I always wondered about the 80 series kit. I usually pull the 80 series parts out and put the shim in but I may check this out.

+1 on the conversion to series 70. $10 shim, remove a couple parts and you are in business. Easy to do and makes a difference.

70s, 80s, they're all good. They all throw .45 into the target. After shooting a Glock, a 5 lb 1911 trigger pull seems like a dream ;)
