Esarco (http://e-sarcoinc.com/pistols-2.aspx) has some new items on their website. They claim to be original Colt 1911's from the 30's, Argentine police 1911s from the 30's and Kareen Israeli Hi Powers. Some look like good deals.

Since those guns are C&R I believe they are exempt from the roster but I still need a FFL to transfer. Does anybody know if esarco is CA friendly?

What's the word on those 1930 Colt's? I don't think there are too many around these days. The Kareen Hi-Power also comes in stainless steel....which could be interesting seeing how the FEG/FN/Browning does not. $275 isn't too bad.

Pretty sure the "stainless steel" is actually hard chromed. I don't believe FN has ever made any HPs in Stainless steel.

The contract Colt's are they original made in America and shipped to Argentina? If so that would be really cool to pick one of those up. If it's just a licensed manufacturing in Argentina I'd pass.

From what I understand they have both. Original Colts made in the U.S. and those licensed to the Argentine. I'm considering an old beat up Colt. It shows character.

The best "Colt Original" they have is at $699. After tax and fees it'll be around $900 but the ones made in Argentina can be had for less than $500. I guess if I ever go for one it would be an original Colt.

Those argentina colts would be great first 1911 or project startup.

Their shipping to CA is higher than some local states if I remember right (from several months back).

Also, the biggest kicker: most of their cheaper handguns are not on the CA DoJ roster (like the Kareen). It might be cheap 'enough' if you're looking at some more common pistols like the 92FS or P226, but a lot of the knock-offs simply aren't on the roster.

yeah i just called sarco, they will not ship pistols CA if its not on the list, even if its C&R. Its just their company policy. It sucks for California, but its their business and they can run it how ever they want, so best to look else where.
