Shot 2 rounds of this out of my Ed Brown SF running a 16lb recoil spring today.

Would it be safe to shoot more of it? I know usually if you get into +P territory you want a 18lb spring.

I don't think it would be a problem to shoot 200 or so to test the gun for reliability. If running a steady diet a Wolff 18.5lb would probably be a better choice. Either that or a recoil buffer if it is a range toy. Some guns eat recoil buffers. I had a Wilson that was very easy on them. Personal preference I guess.

You want as much recoil spring as will permit reliable operation. If it will run reliably on an 18# recoil spring -- you should use an 18#.
