So I was at the Edwards AFB PX checking out their new gun counter .. I saw a Ruger sr40c... I liked it, ALOT! I'm looking to add another handgun to the armory. I love my P89 ..100% reliable for the last 4 years. Anyone here own one? It's between this or a Glock 23 or 19. M&P not my style .or the XD

I don't own one(yet) but I have shot one quite a bit, and I like it a lot more than the Glock. My buddys has never jammed.

Personally I am waiting for them to make an SR45c

That I actually own one, it is my favorite revolver, and one of a very small number of guns on my "will never sell" list.

i've got an sr40c

i've only run approximately 2000 rounds through it, and I did have one FTE on some aluminum cased blazer ammo.

feeds hornady critical defense and pdx1 perfectly.

my biggest complaint is you cannot get spare parts for it, at all.

I had one and took it back.
I love the Ruger SR series and have an SR9 & SR9c, but just didn't care for the recoil. I am a .40 cal fan and my main carry gun is a Kimber .45 Ultra Carry.
I can follow up shoot with the .45, but had a hell of a time with follow ups with the SR40c - it is an awesome gun but just wasn't the one for me.

Owned the SR9c, but traded it for the full size SR9. Love this gun, was my first handgun and I will never get rid of it.

Pleasure to shoot, easy to take down and extremely reliable.

the recoil was one thing i did like about it, or rather its lack therof

the sr40c was pretty mild in terms of recoil IMO

I own a Ruger SR40c and it is one of my favs. Very accurate, and fun to shoot. Easy to break down and clean, as well. It handles the 40 cal. recoil very well.

I have one with the stainless slide. Great 9mm! I love it. Jas so many nice features and a pretty good trigger. I shoot 124 gr. self defense ammo from her. Let's say it's my fishing gun. Stores nicely in the tackle bag. I like it with the pinky extension.
I really like the front checkering and the reversible back strap. Not many guns this size that have adjustable sights too.

Have an SR40C and very happy with it. Shopped M&P and Glock but decided on the Ruger. Liked the trigger, standard rifling to shoot lead bullets and felt best in my hand compared to the others. Only have 1000rds mostly reloads and my only issues were a few SWC that FTF. Factory ammo or plated bullet reloads have been 100% good to go. Recoil very manageable. I qualified for CCW with it first time shooting the pistol (100%). So it's easy to point and shoot.

I have read that it handles the .40 recoil better than most compacts but I have not compared directly to other compacts. My CZ 75B .40 handles recoil better but that is to be expected. The Ruger does well with the .40 in my hands and is much easier to conceal carry vs. the CZ.

Not catching your drift here.

I got one recently and had the opportunity to put 350 rounds down range.

None of the shots I fired made me blink, sit down, and have a good cry before I was ready to pull the trigger again.

In fact, last night I passed the Sac county CCW qualification shoot with it - which is a timed and accuracy drill test of 50 rounds. I passed.

I was surprised at how well this light gun handles recoil. It is not noticeably worse than my CZ-75B .40 Compact which is an all-steel frame gun and substantially larger.

The one I have trouble with follow up shots is my Polish Radom P-64. Shooting that one almost DOES make me want to wonder what other less painful occupations I could be undertaking. It's like hitting your hand with a hammer... repeatedly.

I'm very pleased with the gun's basic handling so far. It needs a few minor tweaks and will be going in for some basic warranty service, but I'm confident it'll handle no differently as a result.
