Funny that Glock needs to make commercial for a market that it used to have locked down... goes to show that competition for the polymer-gun market is fierce.

Ya lol. I find Glockaholics humorous, because there are SO many of them. I like Glocks. I will own a few. I just like Sigs more. I shot a g21, a g19, and a sig p226 all on the same day. Liked the Sig more.

My first 2 handguns will be Sigs. My next 2 will be Glocks.

Nearly 7k through my G19 with simple cleaning, never had to replace a single part and the recoil spring is good as new. I can run it dirty, throw on the ground, leave it out in the rain and never worry about it. It's more accurate than me, and easy to use. The best $495 investment, Ever. LMAO! A $500.00 G34/35 is no match for a > $3000.00 STI

I'd certainly hope not, or all those STI owners would feel pretty stupid paying 6x more (at the least) for a sub-par gun.

I'd like to see the breakdown of Glock vs. STI ranks and scores. I'm curious how this "mechanical perfection" translates to wins.

Please do not encourage others to buy a Glock. The 'Glock Kaboom Club' does not need any new members. I enjoy being the sole recipient of ridicule at the range for having a plastic pistol and I don't want to share that extra attention with any newbs. Please help a brother out.. And knock it off.

BTW, I shoot 9mm just so the .45 guys can mock me. So I do have a plan B.

That would not be a realistic breakdown, a $500 gun will be very well represented as most local amateur shooters will shoot their Glocks at the local montly match. As mentioned, everyone and their mother owns a Glock. A $3000 STI will be in the hands of an open division shooter and with that monetary commitment, you know they will be shooting twice a weekend.

So the stats would show ALOT of Glocks and fewer STIs. And each would have winners in their respective divisions.

So apples and oranges.

For the purposes of competition, a Glock can get you started AND it can get you wins, for $500. A $3k gun would only be sensible for a guy who is really dedicated to the sport. But then that Glock can go from the match back to the nightstand, the STI...maybe not.

It's real simple, the short reset trigger of the 1911, that's all. If you actually shoot USPSA then you already know that. About half the guns in USPSA are 1911 wide bodies and Glocks. The 1911's dominate Limited and Open, the Glocks pretty much dominate Production and Limited 10. Why don't you break it down at our next USPSA match and see for yourself.

Do you shoot IDPA? Why would you run a G21 in CDP against a 1911??? Maybe you meant SSP. You can run any Glock in SSP, but only a G21 in CDP.

You can build an Open Glock, but it won't live very long, especially in major 9.

There is a reason why the TOP shooters in USPSA run 1911's, including David Sevigny (the used to be Glock guy).

uh huh, that's no Glock

I don't shoot USPSA, you come in here huffing and puffing about a 3K dollar gun being better than a 500 dollar gun. My who point is you cannot compare the two, and if you could, I highly doubt the fraction of an inch trigger reset variance of the 1911 translates to more wins for anyone other than the top 1% of shooters.

Which neither you, nor I are. So why you would come into a Glock commercial thread circle jerking about STI Open class guns is beyond me.

KC Eusebio. A former USAMU team member, grew up shooting 1911s mostly Caspian then a little 2011. Now he's kicking butts with a Glock. His expertise is steel, although the moniker, "Speed Demon" was already given to Jet Dionisio, KC should be called, "Turbo Speed Demon". You will usually see his name in the top 10 of most major championship matches he's young, fit and hungry making him a formidable contender.

Yea, I've know KC since he was knee high. He could kick butt with a HighPoint, but a Glock will never have the short reset trigger of a 1911, ever.

I've shot all sort of 1911s. I have a 1st, 2nd and latest gen Caspian wide body frames. I shot with the first gen in Norco with Tata Eusebio, KC's dad. I still think I'm better off shooting a 1911 than a Glock, but once you get to real GM level like TJ, KC, JV, JJ, MM, TGO and so on. I'm thinking it doesn't matter if it's a Glock, CZ, EAA or any of the 1911 widebody.

the are trying to say a glock is peace of mind...your firearm is one less thing in your life to think / worry about....

and I am sorry that I have to agree... I don't have to worry about my handgun because its a Glock 17...why am I sorry???? because many "other" gun lovers can't stand that fact...they have to worry about **** breaking, carbon build up causing failures, nicks and scrapes causing corrosion, nicks and scrapes causing the gun to lose value... and I have to constantly apologizes for buying a firearm that has none of those problem...;)

Don't believe me... ask a 1911 owner to see his handgun. Then hold it over a rocky, muddy stream threatening to drop it...see what happens. Now do this with a Glock owner. As long as you could easily retrieve the Glock, a Glock owner wouldn't give a crap...I wouldn't even clean it afterwards

Lol - if you say so top shot.

People like you are just amazing. You have never shot any competition in your life, but you pretend to know what IDPA CDP division is and that their must not be more than 1% of shooters running Open ??? Do you know that you can run an Open Glock? But I bet you don't own either a Glock, or any kind of 1911, or any gun for that matter, you probably don't even shoot. What do you do for a living? Write fictional stories? And of course the reason you don't shoot competition is that you would suck with your Ruger 95.

Well, since you are never going to go to any competition match, for the rest of your life, you will just have to Da Google it up. Of course you already know that IDPA runs stats on their Nationals, so you could look that up, starts and ends with IDPA, and count the number of Glocks and 1911's. Course their are alot more than just Colt 1911's, so you may need to Da Google up the maker.

This is an Open Glock. Anti-Zero, Do you know why it's called an Open Gun?

Maybe you can watch enough episodes of Top Shot and figure it out.

You have the worst reading comprehension I've seen. I didn't say the top 1% shot in open class. I said only the top 1% are skilled enough to utilize such a modified (open class trigger) effectively.

All these crazy assumptions you're making about me tell me volumes about your character. I'll be out at the Gold Country Regionals on Oct. 6th. I REALLY HOPE I SEE YOU THERE I'd love to continue our discussion F2F.
