I live in Orange County, but from my experience, several shooting ranges and firearms dealers in my area have certified Glock armorers working there. I would try calling some of your local dealers/ranges and ask if they have a certified Glock armorer.

How dare you suggest that there is such a thing as a problematic Glock? You'd better get your flame suit. The entire interebs of glock sheeples are coming after you.

So this is a Gen4 issue? I only have Gen 3's and earlier, never heard of the problem.

G19, Gen3 year 2011, having same issues as well.

Saw a thread on GT that midway (currently OoS) (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/764545/glock-extractor-glock-17-19-26-34-with-loaded-chamber-indicator-carbon-steel-matte) is non dipped, it does state carbon steel.
Try calling Lone Wolf if they can see if their current stock is non-dipped.

I am just going to wait for apex.

Experience talking here, Brass to the face is happening with two Gen 3 G19's. I was at LA gun club two weeks ago and got a hot brass lodged between my glasses and center of my eyebrows. I would post pics, but the embarassment of pretending to give the appearance of a culture not my own is something I could do without. The burn has since healed.

Just this last weekend, my friend took his Glock 19 to La Puente and had a hot brass travel into his glasses over his right eye and came to rest just above his right cheekbone. Another burnmark to the face within a two week period with our beloved Glock 19's. It really does happen.

We'll probably get the fix done at the same place, same time, same gunsmith. Just need some good leads in the SGV, but will travel.

put a lighter recoil spring and see if that helps, it should throw the brass farther, or a heavier spring will drop it at your feet.

This issue potentially affects any 9mm Glock produced 2010 or later. So both Gen3 and Gen4. That's why fanboys say "but mine runs perfectly!" Well yeah, it was made prior to 2010 with the introduction of MIM extractor.

Thanks. I'll PM you.

I'm looking for an OEM fix. Not fixing it by tweaking it myself.

I like having spare parts, these ones at midway that say carbon steel (there back ordered), are they indeed the pre 2010 or dip extractor ones? For 17 bucks and non mim'ed I may grab one.

I'll make a separate thread for Apex's extractor when it comes out, no armorer needed :)

Will the Apex be dipped or non-dipped? Does that even matter?

Have you tried installing the one from Lone Wolf? My new Gen 3 G34 had issues and were fixed as soon as I replaced the factory extractor with one from Lonewolf. 5 minute fix with a cheap part.

There is no reason for it to be dipped, and no it does not matter.

Eeesh, I am picking up my Glock 19 Gen 4 today. Should I wear a mask to shoot tomorrow? I hope this isn't an issue with mine. I just healed my face from an oak tree branch that got me in disc golf and a refrigerator drawer that attacked my lip. Geeze, maybe I need a new hobby.

Well thankfully they have the non dipped ones for sale. Looks like I don't have to bother with Apex. Never had issues but nice having extras and a friend would be glad they brought it back.

You're assuming the non-dipped will fix it when the magic is in the 'claw' of the extractor.

I got a Lone Wolf extractor which people say has fixed the issue. I haven't had a chance to test it yet but it's also dipped so Shenaniguns is probably right about it being something else.

True, but what I read on glock talk and other people who ordered it seem to not have problems. In any case I'm sticking with OEM. YMMV.

It's cheaper than the APEX or atleast according to what I read last about possible pricing. Either way it's nice having options, OEM or not.

Glocktalk LOL, that place is the worst place to get consistant information. I'm glad I figured that place out in the early 2000's.

Don't think the problem comes from being dipped at that area.
Dipped just pretty much means the part is MIM (Glock went cheap).
I have no problems with MIM parts, but looks like the new dipped/MIM Glock extractor messed up somewhere.

Hoping apex will be competitively priced to LW's brand extractor :-0

Dipped is just a physical way to describe them that's all.

Unfortunately the Apex Extractor and plunger spring will be about $60 due the the expensive manufacturing costs of EDM and it's multiple passes it needs for the complex angles.
