View Full Version : Just picked up my first new handgun

Decided to run with the Beretta M9 (commercial). Saw one for sale at a local shop recently and was quite impressed with it. Little bit different than the Walther P-1 that I am used to shooting, but it seems that it will make an excellent handgun.

Very nice! Always wanted one but not within my budget( Actually I always wanted a 93R then I woke up:rolleyes:). Got a deal on a G17 which was my second choice so I got that instead. I'm still planning to grab one in the future.

Thanks everyone. Is there anything I should beware of when it comes to the 92 series?

In my experience they're great. You'll get a lot of people on here telling you they're junk because they're used to military or range guns that could potentially have hundreds of thousands of rounds through them hard use with inadequate maintence, but mine have been awesome. Absolutely no issues, great trigger, and of course beautiful guns.

I have a blued Italian1983 92SB (the Air Force was trying out this model before it went service wide).
And a bruniton (like yours) 1988 92FS.
I got the wood grips for them from Beretta's website. They look great!

Also, I'm not a brand loyalist either. I have Glocks, Berettas, 1911s, Colts, KelTecs, even Ravens and Jennings.
Berettas are good guns :]

Love my 1911, it might be 100 years old, but it still runs like a top.

I bought the 92FS after retuning from Iraq. Other than a few Smith revolvers growing up, I had never shot pistols. As an MP we carried the M9, so I was very familiar with it. When I got back home, I bought one. If you don't like the DA first pull you can put in a D spring to help with that. Maintain it and it will last a life time or more.

Congrats on the new Beretta. fine service pistol, parts and mags are easy to get, and lots of holster choices available.

I'm really start to like the looks of the 92 Series handguns, just purchased a 92A1 myself, which gets out of jain on the 9th.

Awesome choice, now quit fondling it and take it to the range!;)

A great choice for a first handgun. Congrats and enjoy shooting it!

Nice pick up. Always loved something of the look of 92s

That's a fantastic looking gun. While I'm waiting my ten day wait, I've realized that I really do enjoy the hammer fired DA/SA handguns.

Enjoy it! I have to admit I'm a little jealous. :)

If all goes well, it will be going to the range tomorrow. Hope to have a full range report.

Good taste. I was debating on getting the m9 at one point and was very close to getting one.

Oh dear, Those Inox pistols are gorgeous...

I must admit, when it comes to 9mm, I'd buy another CZ over a Beretta, but I think the Beretta is one of the more aesthetically pleasing (ie; Purty) semi autos every built. Whoever designed it knew what they were doing.

I'll be honest, I'm in Afghanistan right now and I will be buying an M9 or 92FS (which ever I can find first) when I return. I've already got mags and a holster for it! :)
