Someone recently gave me a few 1911 magazines but also gave me on he had and didnt have a gun anymore, its for a p 38 and has a few stamp marks on it, after looking it up on the web some of the ones from the war are going for around a $100 and was wondering if this is one of them and if that price is realistic or not. It has a stamp on the side reading P38 v and underneath that is a u and on the spine it has a stamp of a symbol.

The P38 was manufactured well after and before WW2 so it may or may not be from that particular war. The P38 was manufactured up until at least the late 50s.
Anything from WW2 tends to have the Nazi German iron eagle on it, but I've never seen that crown before.
I didn't look at the mag in my partner's P38, but the pistol itself has the eagle. I'm not sure if they printed their mags or not.
Anyone else have an idea?

The gun itself from the war would have something marked on it that looks like this:
Don the savage

Dont know about what you have, but post war mags are marked with the date of manufacture among other things. This one is from 10/58.

From what I gathered, the wartime mags would have the eagle on the spine as well. Did a quick search to try to figure out if they printed it on the magazines or not.
Now I want to check Ted's P38. I want to get that sucker in firing condition so I can shoot it but bf won't let me :( *His* dad is afraid it'll go boom. /sigh
