2 hour 1880 degree!

Some are "scratch and dent" specials.

And they have a LEO/Military discount.

I also saw on the site somewhere that they offer financing.

How is the Patriot brand guys? Does it compare to Rhino and other mainstream safe brands?

They look cool. But damn $1500 for safe seems like a-lot when you can get them at costco for less then 1k.

It depends on if you want the extra fire protection and thicker steel on the outside (12-10 guage, depending on model). Most safes are rated at 1200 degrees for 30-45 minutes, the patriot safes are 1880 for 2 hours (but they also have 1 hour rated safes for less). If your main reason for the safe is to keep kids out of it, the mainstream retail store types are fine, but if you want better fire protection and break-in protection, you need to spend more. I plan on using it for other valuables and paperwork, so one of these is looking good for me, then I can sell the 2 other small safes I have.

I found a you tube video of 2 guys breaking into a regular mainsteam safe with a crowbar and wrecking bar in less than 2 minutes.

Ok then, how about someone enlighten me on a good safe that doesn't cost in the $1500 range. If I was just looking to keep the kids out of it, a $600-700 safe would be fine, but I'm not. Here's what I'm looking for:
-About 60X30X27
-A good fire rating (30 min @ 1200 isn't good enough) I plan on storing important papers and other valuables in it.
-I don't want the skin so that a Ka-Bar can go through it (3/16 or thicker)
-Lifetime replacement warranty in case of fire or attempted break in.
So far, everything I can find meeting my criteria are in the $1200-$1700 range. If you know of something less, let me know.

Many members on here have at least one gun worth $1500. Some people on here have tens of thousands of dollars worth of guns, so why does the idea of spending what you would spend on one or two guns for a safe to protect them seem so outlandish for some? It's like wiping before you sh**....just don't make sense.

So, again, enlighten me on where to find a $700-800 safe that meets the above criteria.
