View Full Version : Confirming ID of revolver and pricing

The mother of a good friend of mine is looking at selling her revolver. She has a pretty good idea that it is a Dan Wesson .357 magnum but isn't 100%. I told her I would ask the experts on calguns because you guys never let me down.

She is looking to sell it. I was going to post it for sale in the correct area but I wanted to make sure it is 100% what she thinks it is before listing. Another question I have is what is a decent price for this? She has a price in mind but I honestly have no clue if it is in the ball park or not.

I know almost nothing when it comes to revolvers, especially pricing. It appears to be a really good condition. All pieces and parts are shown and look in good condition. I have not seen the firearm in person though. It has been shot...20 years ago. I am assuming round count is quite low.

Pictures below. 3 barrels, 3 grips and the original tool.

It does appear to be a Dan.

Want it gone now $950 to $1000.

Looking to get top dollar $1200.

All but the 4 inch makings of a pistol pack, and I love the 4 inch on that model. The barrel sellers are asking a fortune for them but I don't know what they are getting. On the DW web site I believe they are over $200 each if available still. I've seen people ask over $1k for the full set of 4 barrels and case. Again don't know what they are actually getting. Also buyers put a sm premium on the Munson made.

Definitely a DW. How much is she wanting to get for it?

You could probably get 600-700 for it withkut much hassel. To get top dollar you would need to have the complete set, you are missing barrel/shroud, tools and the case. The missin barrel is roughly $200 and the case is at least $150. It should look like this if complete.
