So I was looking over the gun and took it all apart and during further inspection on the receiver near the M4 sign it says L.E. I asked what it was on the forums and apparently it's a limited edition M1014. :D

After doing more research L.E. supposedly stands for Law Enforcement. Anyone have any info on this??? I guess the model # for the L.E. version is 11721

If it's a 1014.....there should be an American flag etched into the receiver.....and the barrel is not threaded......so can't use a different choke......at least that's how my 1014 came.

Yeah, I know it's not a M1014 as it doesn't have the flag on it. I been trying to search all day on this L.E. model, but I only found what I posted on it. Seems that they're worth as much as a H2O

It could be that your serial just happens to have "LE"?

Can we get a pic of the whole shotgun?

Yes, I'll take some tomorrow. It just looks like your standard M4. The M4 L.E. came with a collapsible stock, but the original owner of my M4 must've changed it to the standard pistol grip.

Did a little googling and it seems the M4 LE has a recoil tube that can accomodate the collapsible stock. Just out of curiosity, does it say "Low Recoil Rounds" stamped on the barrel?

No it doesn't. My barrel is the 2 port gas design and the 4 gas-port design is for low recoil ammo. I also read that the M4 L.E. has night sights which mine also have. Here's a thread on the L.E.

Looks like he got a little over $2,400 for it. There's a guy on that forum telling me to let him know if I want to sell it or trade it. I think I'll be keeping this baby:D

Sell it and buy another one and see if the same mistake happens again! Pocket the difference! Either way you will still have the shotgun plus some spare change!

Not a bad idea, considering you can't use the collapsing stock in California anyway. People who pay a thousand dollars or more for two letters stamped on the side of the receiver were put on earth to give their money to the rest of us (like people who pay thousands of dollars more for a Chevelle if it says "SS").

EVERYTHING is for sale for the right price!;) I'm going to keep it though or maybe just play the lottery.

it looks to me like it came with the recoil tube that has the notches already for the collapsing stock. I beleive the commercial M4's dont have that.

That's the same recoil tube as on mine. The M4 LE is desirable because of the collapsible C-Stock, which the dealer probably removed to sell separately. I recently sold my C-Stock I purchased separately on eBay for $530.

Yeah, that's what I've read too.

The last M4 we bought had the notches. The first one we bought years ago did not.

We are very careful never to install the collapsing stock on the one with the notches, though it's legal to do so on the one with one notch.
