Well, I'm an idiot, and I lost my firing pin safety plunger spring for my series 80. I can order one online, but I'd rather not pay double the product price just for the shipping. It's a long shot, but does anyone local to the high desert area have an extra they'd be willing to sell?

Next time buy a 1911 without the FPS!:p JMB would have put one in the original design if it was needed! :p

:D I would have been severely disappointed if the first reply to my thread wasn't a series 80 joke!

Order a bunch of extras along with some extra grip screws, recoil springs, firing pin springs, bronze brushes, patches, etc. It's easy to get up a cost effective order. And if you would have done this the last time, you'd already have a spare.

Why not call around your local gun shops, especially ones that work on 1911's? You might get lucky.

Unfortunately, that's what I spent today doing. I wish we had more 1911 oriented smiths in the high desert, but we're pretty limited.

This may be what I end up doing. Thanks Jesse.
