Just thought I'd share some photos from last night at Triple B Clays. My dad and I were out on the skeet fields bustin' 'em. Having a great time. Great weather. Great views. Great company.

It was a busy night, as there was one weekly shoot going on, and all the fields were occupied when we arrived. Skeet being the SOCIAL game it is, we met some new friends and chitchatted before getting out. Good times.

I'll probably be looking to set up a weekly or bi-weekly meet/shoot at Triple B - probably Wednesday or Thursday, for those that may be interested in shooting some skeet. Probably just a couple rounds, as I get off late, and they close earlier (8PM) in the Fall/Winter. This would be especially good for you Ziegloids than can make it out and would like some practice with those that think alike.

And now, the photos...

Let me know if you decide to make it a weekly or bi-weekly weekday shoot. I live about 10 minutes away and can be there during the week.

I thought they closed at like 4:00pm? Night skeet is awesome!

Try their sporting clay fields... Awesome!

I always say lets try a few and end up using all my shot over there. Can't get enough of being able to get crazy angles and when you get a little bored switch stations and it's a whole new game..

And it's always funny me and my cousin never look where they throw from so we guess the first shot of each target. Always a good laugh because half the time we sit there and don't even see the clay until it hits the ground.

is it harder to see the clays or easier? I'm thinking brightly lit clays on a dark background might stand out real nice...

Only thing I hate about their trap fields too is the guys shooting there are too dam good with Dan nice rifles..

Always makes me feel unwanted with my 870 and missing 10/50 while the chick next station is hitting 50/50 wih her nice O/U

Sounds good. I generally can make it there by 7PM, and as a member, have rights to the private ranges. I'm not sure if Wednesdays or Thursdays are busier. Last week, the wife and I were out there on Wednesday, and it was empty. This past Wednesday was slammed. Hit and miss, I guess.

Do you have a preference for Wednesday or Thursday?

As Epic said below, they're open late on Wednesday/Thursday. I wish they were open late on Tuesday or Friday as well. May have to petition them!

I've been on their sporting clays fields numerous times - having shot there for years now - mostly sporting clays, at that. I've gotten into skeet shooting through Calguns - Coach Ziegler's program. If you haven't tried it - do it! All the clay games are fun, but I'm really loving skeet at this moment. Hoping to get into some of the Sansei shoots, as well as some NSSA competitions at some point. Practice, though, is the name of the game.

They are open late Wed & Thu

Again - as Epic said, and for everyone else's benefit, Triple B is open until 9 PM on Wednesday and Thursday at this time. They go to 8 PM in coming months, for their "winter hours."

Yeah, they light them up really well at night - in a good way. Oak Tree isn't that bright?

A few more pics of the lights...

Thanks, buddy. Always a good time out there.

It's actually not that bad once it's dark (or so long as the sun's up). During those few minutes of true dusk where the sun's down and the lights have totally penetrated the dark, it's a little tough to see. You'll want to make sure to bring really bright or clear lenses. That was the only thing I'd say about shooting at night.

Only thing I hate about their trap fields too is the guys shooting there are too dam good with Dan nice rifles..

I've had this argument a million times on Shotgunworld, and a few times here. It doesn't matter what anyone around you is shooting. What matters is that you're out there, and you're learning, and you're having fun. As Coach Z (and everyone else) will tell you, skeet is a social game. Sporting clays is also very much social. Trap - not as much (maybe between rounds). I understand wanting a higher end shotgun - I think we all do! Just practice and get good with what you've got, and once you have the opportunity for the new one, you'll already be good enough to make the new gun look good! LOL

you're there to enjoy and sharpen your skills, if it pleases you. as the old saying goes... "come as you are."

Both days work for me so, but would prefer Wed night. Take a look at the Triple B Schedule this looks like more things are happening on Thursday than Wed.

I'm also a member there too, so I can also get the private fields if need be.

Nope. Oak Tree has 4 lights per field versus the 8 at Triple Bs. Actually, depending on the field you're at, one of the light is out on field 1 at Oak Tree, so effectively, it's just 3 spotlights.

Too bad it's so far from me otherwise I would love to join in on night shooting.
