I'm thinking of getting some Truglo TFO night sights for a Glock, but I see at dealers that they come in Glock High and Glock Low. Does anyone know the difference? Truglo's own website doesn't even show a High or Low version. They just have one version listed on their website and I don't even know if it's the High or Low.

Also, did the TFO used to come in an Orange Front and Green Rear? I've seen multiple references to it on the internet, but I'm wondering if they're confusing the TFO with the plain Fiber Optic version. Because Truglo's website only shows Green/Green or Yellow Rear/ Green Front.

I'm probably going to get the TFO Yellow Rear/ Green Front unless a Green Rear/ Orange Front exists.

High or Low refers to the sight height. Think "tall" or standard. And I believe the fiber optic only version comes with an orange piece as well as a green one. I have the TFO's on my G23 and I only received the green front sight.

So tall is standard? As in the same size as the stock Glock sights?

What's the benefit of having lower sights versus taller sights?

I put TFO's on my police trade in G22 to replace the dim factory night sights.
If I remember correctly the short (6.5mm) and tall (6.9mm) is specific to certain models.

Here's a link to Botach that shows the chart vs part number: http://www.botachtactical.com/trtfogunsi.html

Lone Wolf has some info also: http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Products.aspx?CAT=17
Click the Truglo box and you'll see they also offer the yellow/green version.

The 6.5 TFO's will be slightly taller than the stock sights.

That chart from Botach is the same chart that Truglo has on their website. But that chart doesn't show any distinction between low or high.

The info provided by Lone Wolf makes a little more sense but it's still confusing. At least they say choose the height based on your caliber. OK, got it. The Truglo chart doesn't say low or high because it's based on model so they didn't specify height. It sure would have been nice if Truglo explained that somewhere.

So it appears the Glock 19 comes with 6.5mm high sights. But nowhere does it say what the TFO heights are. If you're correct that TFO Lows are 6.5mm and High's are 6.9mm, then neither is the correct height for a Glock 17L. The Glock 17L comes with 6.1mm high sights, but Truglo says to use 6.5mm sights which will increase POI by 3" at 25 yards according to Lone Wolf. Not good for a target gun.

Truglo really needs to make this stuff clear on their website.

For a 17L you'd need this one http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1366&CAT=115

High and Low is also sometimes called +0 and +1, +0 or low, is for most standard 9/40/357 calibers and +1 or highs are for 10/45 calibers

This is all for Glocks only though

The 6.5mm (so-called low) Truglo TFO are for all 9mm/40/45 GAP and G33.

The 6.9mm (so-called high) Truglo TFO are for all 10mm/45 Auto and G31/G32.

I believe the G42 has a specific model as well.

Green/Green or Green(front)/Yellow(rear).

I favor the Green/Yellow, absolutely no doubt where the front sight is...

And for Glock model 22 (.40 S&W) It will be a High or Low TFO sights?

Low.
