So I'm looking for a handgun that is "pocketable". My budget is only about $400. I'd like a 9mm but a .38 sp will be ok i guess. Reliability is a HUGE plus. I'm open to any style of pistol, revolvers, autoloaders, ect. New or used. Tell me why you chose the weapon you did, if possible. THANKS!

Springfield XD9 (SC) Sub Compact. You find them for about 420. I bought mine on sale and got 3 extra mags. I wasn't looking to buy it. Now I am glad I did since its a nice gun and I shoot it well. It feels much better than that Glock garbage!

IBT Glock fan bois! http://www.flipperforum.be/images/smilies/icon_gay_hand.gif

That's not very "pocketable"

I'd look into a S&W 642

Fits into cargo pockets just fine. If you wear skinny jeans it might be harder. :rofl2:

Ruger lcp in 380 or lc9 ( in 9mm, but little larger) the lcp will be harder to find as its off list.

If you want truely pocketable you're gonna want to go with an LCP or Kahr P380. I currently have or have had an XD 45Compact, G26, LC9, and an LCP. The only one that is truely pocketable is the LCP. I carry mine in my front pocket everywhere I go.

Don't see the LCR listed here; great little revolver with a really nice trigger. Good thing about a revolver for pocket carry is that you can shoot from the pocket...

+1 on this.

Go to a gun shop and check one of these out. Its super light and the trigger is great.

Ruger LC9 for the money, hands down. More expensive and much less firepower is the S&W 442.

LCP and reliable do not belong in tbe same sentence. But it fits great in a pocket.

Cant say enough good about the kahr p380. Accurate, real sights, great trigger, good feel in the hand, all stainless to boot.

however, you dont get something for nothing, and youll have to save a while to afford one.... but its worth it
