I have recently inherited several Colt El (El Coronel, El Jefe, etc.) series 1911's in .38 super. My questions are:

1) Is it better to offer them for sale on calguns or something like auctionarms?

2) I am assuming they are allowed for PPT in CA...

3) Has anyone had any experience putting a handgun in a good gunstore for consignment? I am somewhat worried about a lot of handling that may mar the pistol.

Thanks,

Tim

Well Tim..... I know of this really good shop in the Brentwood area that would love to take a look at the rest of your "El" series Colts. Which models do you have left?

You can ppt them without a problem. If you offer them for consignment then the store will take a percentage of the sale, usually 20%. The store also has to hold them for 30 days before they can be sold in the store.

better sell it here in
you get your money when doing the transaction and no need to give someone 20% and the buyer will save some money and Tax
when doing a consignment you will not get your money until the gun is out of jail.
