a good trade is you getting what you want for a price/trade you can live with.

I would gladly trade a gun that just sits in a safe for a lower value gun that I know I'll use.

Well I use the XD all the time just would like to trade it mostly for a CZ or other steel frame pistol or a RIA 1911 and I would add cash but no takers so far. but I was offered a SR40 but im noticing buying a SR40 new is a good bit cheaper than a XD seems to me XD prices are going up

TRUST ME...I lurk in the classifieds A LOT :). Prices on a gun fluctuate weekly. I just PPT a Walther PPQ with a lower round count, more accessories, and better condition FOR A LOWER PRICE than PPQs that sold only weeks ago.

Personally, hold out for a deal that you want (ie trade for a 1911 or CZ for your XD plus cash) for several months...if that doesn't work out, then sale it. At a loss if need be.

And trust me...you will be HAPPY with the sale money (even at a loss) that goes towards a CZ.

I have the XD 4" service and XD 5" tactial, 2 CZ SP-01s, and 2 1911s that you are considering.

The XD is not in the same class as the CZ IMO (and only my opinion).

I have not shot the XDs for over 2 years because the my CZs, 1911a, glocks, and M&Ps are attention whores whom I love to pamper.

xd9 is a helluva firearm. between it, the xd45, cz75b sa, cz75 sp-01 and 2 1911's i have (viet has GOOD taste!!), it definitely has a place in my collection. small, light, rugged, eats anything, whats not to like?? it certainly doesnt handle or shoot as well as my other handguns, but i can run it drier and longer between cleanings than my steel pistols. i say keep it and save up for a cz or 1911.

People are dumping .40s for 9mms. Cheaper to shoot.

Why not have both?

The objective is to hoard guns.

I would wait for a Cz over The SR40. Czs are great guns. My first cz75 I paid $275 for.

CZ > XD > SR i've had all three and many more... in my opinion this is definitely the order I'd place them. And by no means were any of them a bad option.

Newer SR has an improved trigger over early models.
I must admit, I do like the new SR trigger better than the XD.

+1, save up for a CZ :)
