Whats a fair offer to make on a Colt Delta Elite 10mm? Gun looks clean, no scratches, less then 300 rounds. The current owner hasn't put a price on the 1911 however he has told me to make him an offer. Does anyone know how much there going for? I want to make a fair offer. It's kind of a take it or leave it offer, I'm not dieing to have it.

Not sure but I've seen them go thru the mkt place a few times. Depends on condition, year, box, magazines etc etc....may $1,000 in the right scenario and more if all the conditions a great. Check gun broker too.....

Weird how used guns always have just 300 rounds through them. Saw a nice looking Delta Elite at the Cow Palace a few months ago for $800.

$800 sounds good. Thanks for the info. I guess 300 is the magic number

I think $900 for blue to $1100 for Stainless is a fair price,although I wouldnt sell mine for that.

You have to remeber there were two runs of the DE, I would prefer the new production run, They seem to take the Hot 10MM loads better.

I think up to $1,000 still a fair price consider this one is off roster.

MSRP is $1,0102 on a new one.
http://www.galleryofguns.com/genie/default.aspx?item=O2020

SSE conversion estimate $75.
NIB condition= 1100
Excellent=1000
Good=900
300rds=800

Rough estimate not considering earlier runs.

300 rounds of 10mm is believable then 9mm.

The last used Delta Elite Bud's sold was $899 plus shipping along with receiving FFL fees. These aren't exactly common Colt 1911 variants and good luck finding a new one at a distributor. The demand is high.

I'll buy all the like new Delta Elites you have for $800 apiece within an hours drive of my home.

Between $800 and $900 is about right. I've seen a few listed here at about a grand and they had a long list of bumps before selling. I'm guessing they went under that so that's we're my numbers come from.

why pay that much for a gun that will self destruct after a small quantity of rounds put through it. just skip it.

Hmmmm...perhaps it's time to list mine. Beautiful first edition, once fired (about 100 rounds) by me. No box, one Colt magazine. I'm happy to discuss.

OP, if its a stainless DE, just send me the seller's number. After I buy it from him, I'll tell you what I paid for it. :)

Anyone else looking to rid themselves of a stainless DE in good/new condition in central Calif (SF to Sac), I'm interested...

QFT, twice.

Condition is everything, especially with the blued variants. Many older blued ones will have wear.

Box + paperwork on the older ones is a plus.

I would wager that one could offload a decent to like new delta in this marketplace for ~$1200 as they are “rare,” in CA and elsewhere.
10mm is a niche caliber so usually buyers are motivated.

That being said, I would say a $1000 is a fair price for nice condition, but I would offer $750/800 and go from there, especially if its a FTF/PPT :thumbsup:

i would have left out "due", and continued with the message. nothing "due" after that nonsense.

give respect, but only if it is due.

Started with 800 moved up to 1100 still not taking offer. It is the stainless steel finish and the thing is clean. He Won't even give me a price. Seems like his Just jerking me around. Would of been a nice addition.

300 rounds is to a used gun as 2 drinks is to a cop who pulls you over... :cool2:

Guess I am one of the lucky ones. So far mine hasn't blown up after a few 1000 rounds. Thanks for the heads up. :rolleyes:

Saw a nice looking Delta Elite at the Cow Palace a few months ago for $800.I do have a Browning Hi-Power 9mm purchased in 1987 brand new with less than 100 thru it, in fact, its got 25 lol my buddy has a Colt Python he bought new over 20 years ago, NEVER fired. Some people buy guns, be it for self defense or peace of mind, yet they wont even go shoot the damn thing, even for practice...not everyone shoots all their weapons at the range regularly...but i'll be the first to admit i've never seen anyone advertise their gun "25,000" rounds thru it :)

Pass. You can find cheaper ones online, import them, SSE them, and Tax them for cheaper than youíre going to get his. Iíd tell him straight up heís too high and that youíll pass.

Itís not the only delta around and 10mm is expensive already. :thumbsup:

I pushed it to 1100 to see if he was serious but it seems like his just trying to see how much he can get for it. I mostly check market place on here, I like to deal locally and have a chance to see the gun in person (pictures can hide alot of stuff).

$900 is a fair price if the condition is right, original grips etc.

+1 on this^

You can get a nicely used one on GB through SSE for much less, or get a new one (which don't have the same stress cracking issues) also by SSE for less. The Delta Elite is a nice gun, but frankly they are nowhere near as collectible as an original series 70 for about the same money.

Yea. If/when you really want one youíll find one, I donít doubt it.

Have you shot the 10mm before? Itís not the cheapest round, especially when most of the ďhotĒ ammo out there is medium/hot .40s. It helps that I reload. If you ever make it up to NorCal shoot me a PM and you can shoot mine.

Ya I shot the same gun I made him an offer on about a month ago. Ammo is expensive. I honestly enjoy shooting the 45 1911 more. I just figured it would of been a nice addition.

A partner of mine has a stainless delta elite gold cup with a Hoag trigger and reliability package, outstanding pistol. If you really want one, be prepared to spend some money on it, I have never heard of anyone not seeing theirs a a prized pistol...

What is interesting is that cartridge and projectile advancements are such that 10mm's advantages are decreasing more as time goes by. Instead of going for a 10mm, I got a .357 Sig barrel for my XD-40 and will eventually play with different loads for that configuration.

the marketplace here is not the best place to check prices.

the advantages in the cartridge you mentioned are also available in the 10mm especially if you reload.

Since its off roster and not showing up too often for a F2F, I paid $1400 for NIB one 6 month ago. No regrets. Nice gun and shoots well (50 rounds through before it went to Colt CS for Tactical package and few more things).

I bought mine a few weeks before I moved from Vegas back to CA. I paid 900 for it BNIB in a face to face transaction. This was a bit over two years ago. I love this pistol. I put her on my CCW permit and carry her at times as she has always shot flawlessly.
Even if I were offered $1200 I don't think I would sell her. Although I can't see selling any of my pistols at this point.
