I'm going to be buying a stainless Ruger Mark II Target soon, and I just tried to search for some holster options... Didn't find much. Can anyone suggest an OWB holster, preferably in leather? Midway has Hunter brand and Galco makes one that fits supposedly, but that's all I got.

What length barrel are you going with?

Are you going to put any Volquartsen goodies on it?

Scope or red dot?

Bottle opener or rail? Somebody makes a rail-mounted bottle opener IIRC.

Are you really going to carry it holstered? I know it sounds like a really stupid question, but I've got a few pistols that just won't fit in a holster so I just throw them in a zippered case.

At least you don't have to decide what kind of ammo you are going to run through it.

This looks pretty cool if it fits your gun. I'd rather chew an entire roll of aluminum foil than spend any money with SG though.

That does look pretty cool. 5.5" barrel, considering a VQ trigger, sticking with irons for now, no rail to start, I've gone camping a few times when i was younger with my friend's mk ii on my hip, I guess I mostly want it for novelty.
Just planning on running plain CCI blazer for the most part (for now). I've used Winchester and federal bulk in other .22s and they seem to FTF a heck of a lot more than CCI. CCI has run pretty well in my experience.

Cool, sounds like you are going about it the right way.

The 5.5 just feels right and once you get a good trigger in it you will be a happy camper.

Hit Rimfirecentral.com for all of the tips and tricks, the mag mod is important. Those guys know everything.

Next, get about 10 magazines, more is better and you can carry a bunch in a double stack mag holder for Glocks or Sigs.

Before you do anything else, buy an Ultimate Clip Loader.

This will, unfortunately, double your ammo bill. It will also triple your fun time. (I know it's not a clip, you know it's not a clip, they know it's not a clip, if you feel like it you can cross out the word "clip" on the side and write in "magazine".

DROS'd the Mk. II today! Already bought an "Ultimate Cliploader" (saw it on YouTube and was instantly impressed). I'll check out the Tactical Solutions, but I like leather.

I bought this one for my Mark II Target:

Mine is the 6 7/8" barrel. I had some problems with this holster though. The Mark II has a sharp front sight that likes to catch on cloth, and this holster is lined with suede. Cor a while I couldn't even draw the pistol out of the holster! It had got caught. After I got it out, I cut the suede down the length of that side of the holster and now it doesn't catch anymore. Its not the most dynamic holster, but it works. I wish the fobus evolution holster would protect the whole length of the barrel, or I would have bought that one.

Your cliploader will gum up eventually, depending on the ammo, some faster than other, Get a bottle of Rem Oil and spray some in there on the ammo and shake it around, it will make feeding the rounds so much smoother/faster.

Heavy Duty Silicon for the cliploader.

Don't spray penetrating oil on your rimfire ammo. The centerfire either.

Took this from another site but check it out. Safariland didn't have anything that fit, I too have a MKII SS 5.5 that I might need a holster for.
Right now I have one for my 6 7/8 Target.
