I just got another 1911 today. I saw it in the marketplace and had to have it. It's an MC Operator with all the original stuff, 5 8-round Chip McCormick mags, 1 10-round Chip McCormick mag, 10-8 rear sight, Streamlight M3 tac light, and a kaluban cloak holster custom made to carry with the light. I got it all for $1000, what do you think? Good deal? I eventually want to send it to SACS to do some custom work, but I just want to shoot it already. It's going to be a long 10 days days. Here's a picture of the gun, and some of what I want it to look like after I send it in for work.

Pretty good deal...considering how hard SA 1911's are to come up on lately.

Nice. Are you sure it comes with 10-8 rear sight (looks like regular Novak with trijicon NS)?

Seller must have taken the picture before the 10-8 rear sight was put on.

Sounds like a fair deal...That pic is clearly pre the 8-10 sights and holster wear the seller mentions.

If you are going to shoot it for a while and then have some work done down the road it seems like the way to go...

Great deal. But it's gonna cost about $4,000 to Heirloom Precision to get the one shown in the pics. And a long wait.

There was hardly any holster wear at all on it, I was expecting alot more.

Im not going to spend that much, just send it to SACS for refinishing, checkering, and just a few other things.

I like the MC Operator and you got a smoking deal with all those extras :) I like the green frame/black slide on them.

Personally I'm not a big fan of solid hard-chromed pistols, I don't like the glare off the slide. I prefer the slides to be dark.

I miss her already. Great shooter that never gave me a problem. At least I get my grandpa's ww2 bring back remington rand 1911 back from pawn. Had some hard times in the family lately and needed the cash to get it back. Enjoy it, she was my baby.

1911s suck. They are pure garbage. They don't function, they need lots of work right out of the box, and cost too much. At least that's what I hear. ;) (anyone that knows me knows I have lots of 1911s)
I sold my MC Operator earlier this year. Shot it once, (500 rounds in a day) and then acquired a Rock Island full rail 2011. Since I already had a customized S&W half-rail and the new RIA full rail, I didn't need a 3rd railed 1911. Sold it for $1200.
Shoot yours a bunch before modifying. It may not need anything other than pure cosmetics to suit your tastes. If your mods will be purely cosmetic, then do it anyway! We all do. :D
Enjoy it when you get it.
