I'm a big bore guy- shoot/reload- but have recently been intrigued with this pistol. When I read online, I see several pros/cons-
Thought I'd ask if anyone has any practical experience with the FN 5/7?
Usability-
Reloadability-
Functionality-
etc.
Please help with review links/LEO/military exp.- not, get a real gun comments :)

I own one and love it. Takes a little getting used to because it is so light, but the learning curve is not nearly as bad as some might have you believe. I have close to 2000 rnds down the pipe and with the exception of the first 100 to get it broke in it has been perfect. I found that frogllube CLP might have made it work better, at least for me.
Reloads may be an altogether different animal, people are doing it but you have to be really careful. The cartridges have a coating on them that when absent might cause a battery problem..,Ammo is expensive and sometimes a bit trying to find, but for me it has been worth it. Very accurate right out of the box and did I mention, it is a blast to shoot:cool2::cool2:

I shot my buddy's five seven plenty of times. Very low recoil if any. Shoots really flat and fast. Not sure about stopping power if used as an HD gun though. Ammo is expensive and I think FN is the only company that makes it as far as I know. I haven't heard of anyone reloading this round though.

Great gun to shoot and the only thing I had to get use to was the safety. Not a big deal. Get it if you can afford it and before it's off the roster.

As far as reloading accurate arms does have data on there site but at the same time they do say be careful and when doing work up loads to do them in .1 increments.

As far as a defence weapon it is the only pistol that I can think of off the top of my head that will defeat body armor with the right ammo. As well as the p90 is carried by the secret service and it is in the same chambering.

I have only shot one mag through one but the main thing I took away is how little recoil it had for a high. Velocity round.

They are accurate, flat shooting, expensive and fun and draw more hate than a Hi-point at a Glock convention. I would have no problem carrying it as a defensive pistol.

Cool technology, but lousy value. A lot of money for a plinker handgun and if you want to shoot it a lot, ammo is too $$$ IMHO.

Fired it. Like it a lot. Few guys in my department have them. 10 and 20 round std magazines work great. 30's are not 100% reliable. Its accurate and easy to shoot. But so is my G34.
