Hi

I just purchased a Mossberg 930 SPX Blackwater NIB from Turners.

It was sealed, I watched the clerk cut the tape on the plain brown box. (he unwrapped it, cleared it, checked the SN then handed it to me)

I looked inside and noticed lot's of brass marks and debris. (shown below) I've purchased several new guns and have never seen use like this. I asked about it and was told "they don't clean them after test firing".

I could assume a lot but I'll just assume it was "prebroke in" for me... Anyone else's look like this strait out of the box?

Other than that, I can't wait to shoot the barrel off this gun!!! (I mean wear out the receiver)

Thanks

Matt

Mine looked like that inside the receiver too. I wouldn't worry about it.

Cool thanks

It seems excessive but I'm happy with it either way.

Have a good one

I want one, but I'm holding out for the Urbino stock.

It seems all 930's are heavily tested. I lost a sale on a Blackwater because it showed up not only with the bras marks, but the receiver had some heavy scuffs from handling.

Mossberg really needs to work on their Q/A.

At least their test firing them. I'd much rather have a heavy test fire than none at all.

Thanks for the reply

The Blackwater logo on mine was faded like it had been handled a lot too.

The barrel was very dirty as well, it also had several big slug marks going down it. (at first I thought referb but it looks new other than whats stated)

I hear you

Plus with people saying "a couple hundered rounds for a break in before low brass shoots good". Maybe they just put a bunch of rounds down them to make sure they shoot it all. Like I mentiond above there was shot and slugs tested through this.

I have to wait till the weekend to shoot it..
