Hello,

Not that knowledgeable on rifles or guns so forgive the dumb question or the miss pronunciation of a part or product.

A friend of mine has a .22 rifle (Remington Viper) that I was thinking of picking up. He has it all set up to look like a sniper rifle. It has a scope, flash suppressor on it, looks nice to me anyway.

The Issue

Last time out he said he shot about 1000 rounds out it. Afterwards he took it home and took it apart to clean it. He put it back together, but now the slide wont lock into place. He is unsure on why this is happening

I am thinking that something may have been put back in backwards. I think its probably something real simple But we are not sure

Any tips or suggestion would be helpful.

Don't buy a Viper, that rifle was obsolete before Remington washed their hands of it, put your money elsewhere.

Some guns you have to insert an empty magazine and pull back on the bolt to get it to lock back and then you can remove the magazine.

OR

Some 22 rifles you have to push the bolt handle in to get it to lock back.

I am not sure about the Vipers design so give them a try...

Oh and here is a schematic that may help
