Finally did it. Picked up another G17 and took it to Salient the same day before I had time to change my mind!

Getting their Tier 1 package done on it. Should take 6 - 8 weeks. Will post pics and reviews once I get it back.

Also, not a sales pitch but Adrian and Aaron from Salient are a couple of really nice and smart guys. Great attitudes with great ideas!

Who are they; and what can they do for the Glock?

I think their website is down but they modify Glocks and pretty much, make the most accurate and race type gun mods on the market

They look awesome. What is the cost? Seems like the website is down, as mentioned.

I seem to recall a Tier 1 34 is around $2400 including the price of the Glock. I had an opportunity to buy a Tier 2 17 recently for $1200, but passed on it. I'm kinda regretting that now, but I really want the Tier 1 34.

I supplied the G17 and my Tier 1 package was $1899 and now 3 months time!

Wow! 3 months and you're complaining? I remember a friend who ordered a pistol from Nowlin and he was all excited and he waited and waited and waited until he forgot about it. Then one day he gets a call saying it's done and the Aimpoint Comp he ordered installed on it was not the king of optics anymore, but the C-more and 4 - 5 chamber compensators were now (then) the current rave.

Just watched a quick vid on a Salient G17, holy geez on the 1.25-1.5 Lb Trigger pull that's awesome.

I was given a time line of 6 - 8 weeks max. Just turned week 12.....

Well, at least you weren't given an estimate of two years... ;p I'm only 8 months in to my wait right now. I'm seriously considering asking the gunsmith if I can tack another gun onto the original order so that I don't have to wait...

A friendly fellow shooter at the range let me try out his Salient Arms G19. Had the stippling, slide serrations, red dot, fancy trigger.. whole 9 yards. Grip felt good, everything else I prefer factory. Reset sucked, red dot was among the fuzziest & largest dots I seen, and on top of all that.... Factory just looks better.

There's a reason the website is down.
What they do to your glock?
They take a $600 gun and turn it into a $3000 , $600 gun.

Just like a 1911. ;)

Hopefully you'll get your pistol soon! i can only imagine how anxious you must be.

And a little hint. Maybe call every week or two instead of every other day or so. You risk becoming 'that' guy.

6-8 weeks is just part of the sales' pitch - sucker! :) ;)

Lookin at the pistol mods it shouldn't take 1 week to finish one gun, but refinishing is where the hold up is if it's not in-house. I do understand it's not just your gun they are working on.

I agree but at some point you have to draw the line. I mean really do I just continue to wait and hear excuses? Nah..... Time to draw the line in the sand, set a date and require money back each day it's past that date.

If it doesn't get delivered, it may be time to tell them I will have to report it stolen. I mean really....enough is enough. I can see a week or two to blame it on a vendor but 6 weeks now? Starting to sound like BS to me.

Let me get this straight.

This company takes a gun that is rugged, reliable, and accurate out of the box. They dremell the snot out of it, throw in some custom parts, them rough up the frame with the soldering iron. They then call it a "Tier One" package which screams "poser!" and charge you $2400, which screams "sucker!"

Pass.

Should have bought a 2011 with that money! You will be much happier!!! ;) I had and shot Salient Glocks, Glockworx Glocks and SJC Glocks... Non of them came close to a well tuned 2011!

So where are all those glock guys complaining about dumping money into a firearm and why they didn't just buy a factory glock to begin with.

Guys, to each his own. I hope that OP's Glock is everything he expects it to be!

I look forward to that range report!

Wow! Just wow!

Shoots better than expected. I brought along a G17RTF2 as well to compare and there is no comparison. I was (and still am) happy with how my RTF G17 shoots but this thing is amazing.

Extremely quick on the follow up shots, trigger is smooth and breaks like a 1911 (yes I own several that all have nice trigger work done to them). Stippling feels great and it sits deep in the hand for a good solid grip everytime.

All in all, very impressed. The wait almost killed me but I'm glad I stuck it out! Highly recommend Salient Arms to anyone!
