I'm heading to San Diego on Monday to pick up a purchase and wanted to know if there are any stores with a decent selection of consignment (or new handguns) for sale?

I'd be stopping by LA overnight in the Sherman Oaks area before I head down to SD early Tuesday morning.

I'm looking for guns on consignment since the purchase I made is a new handgun (And thus, the 1 in 30 comes into play) and definitely want to peruse the showcases.

The route I'm taking will be 99 South to I5 South to 405 South. So any stores along those routes I should keep an eye out for?

Iron Sights in Oceanside is the first one on the 5 south. Then Dunn's Discount Gun of the 5 exit Sea World - Tecolote canyon go left and then left on Morena Blvd about 3 blocks down. The only ones I know without going more inland.

On Target in Laguna Niguel has a broad selection, and is right off the freeway.

I was going to be around the La Jolla area near UCSD, since Parallax was around there as well as an awesome burrito place on Miramar road (Rigo's if anyone's familiar).

I may go by Socal Guns or Turners since I was planning to stop by the Glockstore.

It's weird. I'm from Fresno too and live in San Diego now. Check out DAS (Direct Action Solutions).

I was at UCSD for school a few years back and moved back to Fresno. And I'm actually gonna be at DAS, that's where my purchase was.

Check out Rifle Gear

I did stop by there and although they have a great selection, I'm looking more for consignment/used guns so I can PPT them.

So Cal Guns, American Shooting Center. If you're really adventurous there's P2K in the boonies.

+1 Parallax Tactical (http://www.parallaxtactical.com) just off Miramar road and 805 freeway usually has some decent consignment items too.

Discount gun mart is also off of moreno blvd. but not the nicest guys to deal with.

Rigoberto's awesome? i wouldn't call it that. its a good place to go after getting drunk. there are far better places than Rigo's, not on miramar road though.

Direct Action Solutions in Solana Beach. Very nice people there.

+1 They're in Solana Beach so you will pass them on your way down to La Jolla. They're pretty close to the freeway too. And the Mexican food at Fidel's or Tony Jacals across the way isn't too bad. ;-)

DAS in San Diego...Rifle gear will take hours to talk to anyone. You are better off at that point going to Turners along the way.

DAS is my preferred shop and they are wayyyyyy out of the way for me. Great service and awesome people.
