RIA via SSE is the sensible choice for a lower cost full rail 1911. Any dealer who does SSE should be able to help you.

Great guns !! , If you can buy one at a reasonable price jump on it . Getting tough to find, and the dealers are bumping up the prices . My GI has been flawless , and eats everything . Best part is you'll have a bunch of cash left over for ammo. Compared to spending two and three times on other brands . The truth of it is the more you shoot it you may end up not interested in it for a project anymore but either way you will enjoy it . I enjoy my higher end guns but theres never a doubt whether the RIA is coming to the range , its a shooter and does its job without disappointment and doubles as my HD go to. Good luck in your search as I can not give you a definite answer because of demand right now . Hit as many LGS's as you can and scour the internet , possibly Gunbroker.com or others like it..

I love the look of the full rail! Always have. Probably one of the reasons I was drawn to the SP-01 years ago, and one of the reasons I like my Lightweight Champion Operator (which I am selling, but I reallly freakin' love it) so much. Yeah, the LW isn't really full railed in that the dust cover is flush with the front of the slide, which is what makes the TRP full rail and RIA and many STI/SVI's so freaking cool looking, but it's dang close :). Plus I think the price on the LW is very reasonable considering the extremely high quality fit and finish and slick bull barrel and recoil spring setup, great trigger, etc etc etc cool gun

The RIA will be a fun project base!

so I went into a local gun shop yesterday In the San Francisco/peninsula area, and 1 of the workers told me that the RIA tactical version with the rail is not legal in California because it's not on the list. But what I don't get is why do other gun stores in the Sacramento and LA area have them In stock? If the guy is wrong, I wonder how many other sales they lost by offering his useless opinion.
