I have bought one from out of state before. So I know how that goes.
I know I need to use my LGS to ship mine leaving the state to receiving ends FFL.
Here is my question?? The one I own and will be trading to someone in Texas is registered in my name.
How does it become unregistered to me??
Thanks

You don't need to use an FFL to ship it.

There is a form on CADOJ website IIRC. Honestly doesn't really matter though.

You file an NLIP form to report the sale/transfer.
http://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/pdfs/firearms/forms/BOF4546NLIP0209.pdf?

You need paperwork to prove it -- (They used to take your word for it.)
Get documentation of the sale from the receiving FFL or CA will never take it out of your name.
