I'd buy it if I was still in the market for a 1911 but I bought one a few months ago.

I am worried the other 1911s in my safe will not accept her. Those girls can be quite evil to the new girl. :rofl2:

I wasn't in the market for another handgun. Deals are quite hard to pass up.

I am curious. Does anyone know if I can get SA to change the frame to a full rail? I know its not free plus a new DROS. I have always wanted a full rail TRP.

"Change the frame"? You'd need to buy a new gun.

The full rail TRP is my holy grail. Just throwing it out there. Since they are uber rare.

Don't buy the non rail then. Put that $1k in a piggy bank, and wait for a full rail to roll around. You can get one for about $500 more. Buy what you really want.

The various SA products are batch produced and come in "waves"...right now is a dry spell for the full rail TRP. Be patient and keep your eyes open, another slug of that model will be available before you know it.

I say buy it now...once you find a full rail, you can easily filp this over for more than what you paid for.

I have tossed that idea around, though I have a hard time selling any gun. So this non-rail will just add to the collection. :D

your a fool if you dont buy it.
i bought my trp stainless for 1200 with 30 rds down the pipe. owned by a friend of mine. 1000 is a steal for that pistol.

I have the 3/4 rail TRP tactical operator and it is by far the best handgun I have ever shot. I trade guns like there is no tomorrow and this one will never leave my safe!!! I was going to carry her, but she is so pretty I only carry her on special occasions!

I know what you mean about the other girls in the safe accepting her, they can be really mean to a new neighbor!!

I havent seen a TRP full rail go for $1500 on Calguns in the past year!!!!! At that price, expect the gun to be really beat/scratched up or used as a duty gun! There was one guy from OC selling it for $1600 and it was beat up like crazy! Decent Full rails are going for $1800+ and the past 2 that I have seen on calguns have sold for $2k during the last few months!

I just recieved mine in at my FFL 2 days ago from SA after a long 5 month waiting, and my FFL was only able to order 2! I say find a ffl that can order one for you and buy it new and just wait the wait! It will be worth it! :cool2:

Are you sure they sold for $2000? ;)

Are you sure they sold for $2000? ;)

haha, maybe more?!?! ;)

All i know is that if someone post it selling for $1500 like how one person did a few months back, it sold litterally like in 3 mins! so unless your hitting the refresh button on the screen on the For Sale add every min of the day, its a hard buy at that price!

Hard to monitor prices, since everyone removes the price, once sold. I think the prices should stay up to help other gauge the value of various models.

You pretty much can get the idea how much it sold of if you know what the original price it was listed for and how long it took them to sell it! If the original price was set at lets say $1800 and it sold in less than 2 hours, you pretty much know it sold for that price or maybe higher! What I dont like is how your the 1st to post "I'll Take it" for such a demanding gun and later find that you get blind sided by the seller having someone offer more than the selling price! This happened to me on a SA professional!!!!!

I would not pay $2000 for a used TRP in today's market. (I am a TRP owner BTW)

There are many other guns for that price that have much more hand fitting and other quality work done. Les Bauer, Ed Brown, STI, Guns that have been thru the SACS, etc.

That being said, I am sure there are many on Calguns that would pay that price.

They are scarce today, when the next batch comes out you will see them taking a little longer to sell and showing up on GB, etc...

The same Dimwit is trying to sell that TRP on GunBroker...

On both sites he is BS'ing about them being "out of production".

Oh, well...buyer beware.

I bought my full rail for $1500, and was offered $1600 the day I picked it up, sight unseen. Any TRP going for $1000 is a deal. Good stuff for sure, with or without a rail.

Just make sure you field strip the weapon and inspect every nook and cranny of the thing. Just because its a TRP doesn't make it immune to being jacked up by a careless owner or gunsmith. If something is too good to be true, it typically is.

Yeah, your correct! It took about 5 months for the TRP full rail to get in, and I placed the Professional rail in at the same time this year! They FFL told me I should be able to get it by the end of the year! ha! The FFL was telling me some dealers are only allowed to order a certain limit? Dont know if this is true or not, but the FFL told me they only got 2 Full rails in for the year and 2 professionals in as well for the year. I guess the wait continues!

Yeah thats about right! If it was listed for $1600, it would of been sold in 2 mins! :D

Does anyone know what the retail price of the TRP full rail is since SA doesnt have it on there website anymore?

Yeah he posted it for sale on 1911 forum (against the rules) and I called him out, stating the prices I paid for two of the same gun. He never replied though...
