View Full Version : Oh, Hogue, where have you BEEN all my life? :)

Someone please tell me why I waited this long to put a Hogue OverMolded stock on my 10/22? I ordered one from Midway, and it just came in. The installation was finished - all 5 minutes of it - maybe an hour ago.

My feelings? It's molded to the rifle like they were cut from the same piece of granite, the rubberized material makes it easier to pull the gun into position and hold it there, it has sling swivel mounts already in place. It even has an unadvertised recoil pad on the back - not that a .22LR caliber rifle needs one, but it's a welcome addition in any case.

Plus, it just looks hot! The standard 10/22 plastic grip feels like a Happy Meal toy in comparison. Ruger is remiss in not putting this standard on their synthetic models.

In short, I am impressed!

I bought one for my Mini 14, and yeah, the difference between the cheap plastic stock Ruger has as standard and the Hogue one is night and day.

I had one on the mini30 I used to own. I loved handling that rifle just because of the Hogue stock.

I put one on my Heavy Barrel 10/22 and fell in love instantly. I have been wanting to do a carbine/plinker/standard barrel version with the hogue stock as well. My wife won't let me fool with her wood stocked carbine...LOL

They're great if you like a stock that flexes.

Hehe true. They are great for hunting but not the best for bench work.

Also I have a big curly beard and these kind of stocks pull at my face.

Pictures please :p
