my friends has a Sig Sauer P225 .357 sig for sale. He wants 500 for it. It has some holster wear on the slide. It comes with paperwork,2 mags and the blue box. I've googled this model and didnt get any good info. So is this a good price or no?

Wow I never heard of a P225. But I think it would be a fair price, maybe slightly underpriced, but take it!

I thought it was only in 9 mm. Does the blue box's label show .357?

speak to your friend again; the P225 is a 9mm handgun.

Yeah, I thought the P225 only came in 9mm. Maybe what your friend has is a P226 or P229?

A single stack .357 SIG would be bad ***.

The 225's slide would not be up to the recoil of .357Sig. Is it a single stack or a double stack magazine? I'm betting the latter and you are looking at a P226.

P229s in 357Sig would probably be in a plastic box.

A beat-up P226/P229 in 357Sig at $500 would be just a tad under market value, but not enough for it to be an awesome deal.

Make sure you are aware of the prices on 357Sig ammo before you decide to buy.

I personally only like the 226, 229, 238, 239, 220, 245, and the 230

I feel that the convertibles feel cheap, and also don't like the sig pro's... The only caliber change I like is the 40-.357sig barrel change...their 1911's aren't bad but for their price I also prefer a custom 1911 or one I have built.

225 is 9mm only and it's probably older. Single stack 9mm with expensive mags that are hard to find. Only good if you want a large single stack Sig.

For $500, pass on it and take your time choosing a gun you really want.

For a single stack gun, there are many new choices out there.

Take a look at the M&P Shield as well if you really want single stack.

I like the full size M&P myself along with Glock 17 & 19.

Make sure the gun fits your hand and you can reach the trigger easily.

I'd recommend going with 9mm because the price of ammunition adds up QUICKLY!

Better to hit the guy with a 9mm accurately, than a .40 or .45 less accurately because you got less practice due to the higher cost of ammo.

.357sig will be prohibitively expensive to shoot regularly.
