snip-"Harvey Weinstein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvey_Weinstein) [at a $35,800 per ticket dinner for President Obama] has made some comments recently about the need for gun control. And in light of the temple shootings in Wisconsin this weekend — and he’s talked about the movie industry’s role in glorifying violence sometimes. Does the President have any plans to discuss that tonight?"

So, the guy who initially bank-rolled Boondock Saints, one of the greatest gun-glorifying movies ever, blames Hollywood for over glorifying guns? Pot, meet Kettle.

Good to know Mr Weinstein's firm didn't make millions of dollars off of cinematic gunfights. Pulp Fiction was a movie based on civilized resolution of social and financial conflicts, after all :

Typical Hollywood douche. Alec Baldwin and at the time wife Kim Basinger were on a rampage about gun control and how horrible guns were etc....then turned around and made that horrifically terrible movie "the getaway" that killed a ton of people with all the over effects that Hollywood could put in a film. Hypocrites are going to hypocrites they live in their own world of rainbows and unicorns.

It is sad that we live in a society where people who make fantasy have the power to influence those who make policy about reality. Kind of backwards, don't you think?

It's not only about money, although money plays a role. Power and influence are big factors. Prez. makes $400,000 a year. Makes a lot more doing other things, and could make a lot more if he were not prez. Senators/house reps make $174,000. Private sector poeple can make a lot more.
It's not alway all about money.
Money does sometimes equate to power, but not always, and not purely.

Omama makes 400k, but do you know how much was spent on his campaign?
It was a new record and probably the reason he won.

Harvey Weinstein is a legendary Hollywood ***ck, he even lampooned his real life image on Entourage. Sad that someone with Obama's power is listening to an egomaniacal tyrant like Weinstein but that doesn't surprise me.

Wrong money Nick. I was talking about Hollywood. They get people's ear because they make large donations. That is why people who make fantasy are allowed to push their fantasy land positions...
