I was thinking of selling my Butler Creek folding stock for a Mossberg 500 on Ebay
This is legal right??
I know the new ones are "pinned"
But...I thought that was just Butler Creek voluntarily pinning outta the good of their heart............

It is just a part, and is legal to sell.

I see plenty of fully functional folding stocks for sale on EBay - check out the Ruger Mini factory folders.

Folding stocks in & of themselves are legal.
Folding stocks are a non-issue for pump shotguns like Mossy 500s.
Even if you have a folding stock for a gun that should not have one (i.e, would turn a semiauto rifle into an assault weapon if mounted), it is legal to possess separately from the gun ('constructive possession' does not apply to CA AW matters).

I can't imagine what you are referring to. There is no law in any state that we are aware of prohibiting folding stocks on pump shotguns.

Maybe it's just the Mini-14 Butler Creek folding stocks
All I have seen at gunstores (in Cali) is pinned versions
Dude at store said===> "get yourself a cold chisel.....put it in that ol' weld bead..and whack it....It'll bust that weld right off my friend...."
