I'm thinking of adding a bayonet on my Mossberg 590. I just need some opinions/insights or advice on what bayonet will best suit my 590. Also, where i can get it cheap. i don't mind paying the retail price, but if anyone knows where i can save money i'd really appreciate it.

its just a mossberg so you dont want to be paying over half the cost for a bayo

just hunt down an old surplus m16 bayo

or this is cheap

At that price I would bet that knife is made in China. Why not get a USGI M7 bayonet for $30-$40?

Expensive: the OKC 3S (http://www.knifecenter.com/item/ON6504/Ontario-OKC3S-Khaki-Brown-USMC-Bayonet-8-inch-Blade-and-Scabbard) made by Ontario for the Marines. I have one, it is amazing. Heavy blade, wicked sharp, and a very good grip. But it costs a lot of money.

Inexpensive: A surplus M7 bayonet. Nothing too special, but it's pointy and will hold an edge.

Stay away from: The weird Chinese M7 look-alike. (http://budk.com/Knives/M-16-Bayonet-Knife?) They are on par with the worst of the stuff you can buy at the local Scottish Games.

Other: An M9. And there are some cool foreign-made bayonets that never saw service in the US. (Although the Eickhorn bayonet was going to. US companies complained so they adopted the OKC3S instead.) Good luck getting your hands on one, though. The KCB77 bayonet includes a bottle opener!

M7. no need to pay a bunch of cash for a bayo.
