I suspect I know the answer to this question but;
is this http://www.snipercentral.com/bushtact.htm a decent scope, ie how does it compare to say a Vari-X II,Vari-X III Leupold ? Or IOR Valdada ?
If anyone has a Bushnell Elite Tactical please forward your impressions, experiences, warnings etc [before I head back to the Ventura show tomorrow morning ! :eek:] .
I'm guessing the Bushnell Elite Tactical is on par with the Super Sniper scopes ? Which of these two 10X scopes would YOU buy were you on a budget ?
All insights welcome !

Well, SWFA has the same scope for $30 less.

Personally, I would never buy a scope off E-bay.

As to the Eagle Eye, I've looked them up on the web. They are made in China. Not Taiwan. China. And for as cheap as they sell I would have a hard time believing they would hold up in the long run.

As far as the Bushnell Elite series goes, I've heard good things about them. The one I had a chance to shoot a few rounds with seemed pretty clear in broad daylight.

As to that particular scope, unless you are 1000 yard bench resting that is WAY more magnification than will be useful 6 months out of the year. On anything other than a cool, crisp morning the mirage at 24X will kill you. You'd have to dial down to see anything. I know of what I speak. I shoot 1000 yard matches every month. When the temps get into the 90s even 10X is sometimes to much.

ETA: Just so you know, High Power and Palma shooters don't use their high magnification spotting scopes to see the target so much as they do to read the mirage.

I actually meant to post a picture link to the fixed 10X Bushnell Elite Tactical [ http://www.snipercentral.com/bushtact.htm ], not the variable 24X . I'll check SWFA to see what they're getting for that one.
By the way, any experience with the Trijicon Accupoint ?

I've had mine on a Savage 10FP for years... I think it is an excellent scope (if you are ok with a fixed power.) Mil-Dot is the way to go if you can learn to use it right. Target turrets are great.
