10 24 hour periods. Calendar dates don't mean anything.

you can't pick it up early, has to be to the minute of when you dros'd it. ie if you dros'd it at 11:15 on the 21st, your pick up will be 11:15 on the 31st. Shops get in trouble if you pick it up before then. Has to be EXACTLY ten days

I say get there at about 10:15, look and play with some guns for 15-20 minutes and make sure that you're dealing with someone that can do your final pick-up, then have them grab your gun and start on the final paperwork/safety routine and you should be right around 11 (or whatever your pick-up time is) when you have to do the final signature and leave with your gun..... I wouldn't wait until your actual pick-up time before asking them to start. Some shops might be hard on you though and not let you start the process until your actual time.

The last gun I picked up (couple of days ago) I walked out of the door right after my "scheduled pick-up time" due to the shop being cool and getting everything out of the way early. I went in early and they grabbed my gun and paperwork, started filling in the rest of the info required on the paperwork, going over the final safety routine / locking the gun up, then it was the correct time to release it so we put the time on the sheet and I signed it and left with my stuff..... couldn't have been easier or a better use of time.

The shop cannot hand gun over to you until exactly 240 hrs later. I usually go in about 15-20 minutes earlier depending on the shop so they can get paper works started. Once the paper works are done I'm outta there with my gun in 240 hrs and 1 minute.
