Someone with the alias "HaveBlue (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11770)" successfully made a "3d print" of an AR15 receiver... and it WORKS

update: now even more people have successfully printed a working receiver.

Some of the toughened polymers for Stereolithography are getting pretty good and there is always powdered metal but are the properties as good as forged aluminum. Not yet.
