CALNRA: MANDATORY SPAY/NEUTER (AB 1634) defeated in 1st vote; now "On Call"
6:20 PM, 6/6/2007 - PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY

AB 1634 (Dog Breeding) failed the first Assembly vote today 37 yes to 34 no (41 needed to pass). The bill was granted reconsideration, is now "on call" and could come up for another vote anytime. Please continue to ONE-CLICK, call, fax and email members of the Assembly in opposition to AB 1634.

- In its current form, AB 1634 proposes to seriously restrict the property rights of responsible hunting dog breeders and owners while imposing untold and unjust punitive costs upon their activities. If adopted, the provisions of AB 1634 would have a profound negative economic impact on both the state and local economies in California.

Just an FYI: it's 9:36 PM, your state lobbyist Ed Worley is still at the capitol and there has still NOT been another vote on AB 1634. (May indicate the author is having trouble getting those 4 YES votes.)

Ed asks us all to "Keep calling!"

Mike
