Does anyone know who makes a hard takedown case for an AR-15? I considered something like this:

http://www.pelicancases.com/iM2306-p/im2306.htm

but I'm not sure if it is long enough or wide enough.

I don't want to spend top dollar for it, either.

I have one of these
http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail_storm.php?Case=iM3100

and one of these
http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1700

I like the Pelican Storm cases more than the regular series. Both will fit a fully assembled 16" AR 15 with the stock collapsed.

My iM3100 stores a 24” target AR but it has to be broken down (upper/lower) + optics, range finger, bipod, and some other stuff…

If you want to break down the AR (upper and lower) you can use a smaller case, but just go off the internal dimensions off the pelican website. There should be more than enough info on the website to help you make the decision.

The Pelican / and Pelican Storm cases are awesome, one of the best brands I have used especially if it’s going to see some hard use. Might not be cheap but it’s worth the money. I have some other hard cases but nothing else I own compares.

Any in the Pelican 1700 series should fit.
