View Full Version : Sidearm registration question

This might be a stupid question, but I'm going to ask anyways:
My wife has a CA. registered .380.
we are moving to Texas.
Can she "de-register" it, or does the move out of state invalidate it.
Or does: "don't worry about it. You're moving out of state." apply?
Any info is appreciated.

I don't think there is any way to deregister it. There is a NLIP form but, she is retaining it. So, that won't work in this case.

I think it's just "don't worry about it. You're moving out of state."
to my knowledge there isn't a "moving out of CA" form. There's a form for if you're moving in (importing firearms), but not out

No way to 'unregister'. Even the NLIP does not delete the record in AFS.

I thank all of you graciously for your replies! :)
Well, after you move to Texas she could give the gun to you and then fill out the NLIP form, then you can give it back to her.
