Went to Wally world today to pick up a couple of things (not ammo). As I always do I passed by the ammo case to check stock and noticed they moved things around, so I looked for the Federal that I usually buy and my jaw dropped. Less than 2 weeks ago I bought some 45 at $17.97 a box of 50 today the price was $24.95. I checked prices on the other calibers and found them to be 1 to 2 $s more than before. I guess it's time to get into reloading.

You sure that box of "50" for 24.95 wasnt the new 100 rounds value packs?

If they were I would have jumped on those... They are out of stock everywhere and looks like the price just went up to 29.99

Ammo is going up and I bet there is now a surge in buying so that will drive the prices up as well.

Headed to the Ontario Gun Show. I price check the ammo and let you know if cost have risen everywhere. Traditionally Walmart has the best retail on Ammo

Look at the box. It is AE 223 varmint round 50 grain. It is not the AE 223 55 grain FMJ.

Stopped by Walmart the other day for something and noticed they just received a large shipment of ammo and the shelves were fully stocked.

Watched the news earlier and had a feeling that it meant prices were going up soon, so I bought a stack of ammo even though I didn't need it.

The 550-round .22LR bricks from Federal have actually come *down* by a dollar. They were $19.97 before, and they're now back to $18.97. Also, the Federal 100-round value packs for 9mm Para are holding steady at $19.99.

Everything else, I neither know nor care because I roll my own. :D And every other shooter here should consider doing likewise.

If your talking about the "American Eagle" stuff I was told by one of the clerks is because they changed the bullet. Look at the box next time and it will say 50grn Varmint bullet. I said to her "good luck selling that stuff". Sure enough its not flying off the shelf like it was in the past...
