Im new to guns and all, so am I to this forum. My name is Kevin nice to meet you all! I have been looking through the forum for hours about this cz 75b sp-01 phantom. I know itzs not on the roster, but does that mean it's not legal? i saw people talking about getting it through single shot exemption and ppt route. can someone enlighten me on these two terms? i don't seem to find any thread that explains them. Thanks!

Welcome to Calguns. The roster only applies to what a CA FFL can sell to the general population, LEOs are exempt and can buy non roster handguns. Non roster handguns can be sold in in Private Party Transactions (PPT) or as Single Shot Exempt (SSE). http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=383692

Correct. It is not illegal to own, it is just that a CA FFL cannot sell one to you unless you are a LEO. They become available as a PPT when someone who has one moves into CA then decides to sell it or if an LEO has one and decides to sell it as a PPT. I don't know how often they come up in the used market so the SSE method may be your best option.

Welcome aboard! Lots of useful info and helpful folks 'round these parts.

Try reading in the handgun subforum, look for "SSE" (single shot exemption). it really has been discussed much.
