edit: after reading it, I think I got my yearly barfcom fill. Good to know that the rest of the gun world is willing to help those in need *rolls eyes*

Every time I hear of some jackass bill or regulation popping up in one of THEIR states I feel just as sick as if it was happening here.

Its a common theme over there.....you should see what they wrote in a past thread about people on motorcycles splitting lanes in CA....those fools were actually advocating assaulting people in such circumstances.
Anything CA gets hit with immediate hate. What else would you expect from a bunch of haters.
I said my peace in this most recent CA bash thread regarding gun ownership....not that I expect those morons to get it.

lots of idiots thinks CA will fall into the ocean one day but the real danger spot is the New Madrid fault near St. Louis. It is estimated 11 million casualties once the next big one hits there! :43:
as for the gun laws, you guys are putting up a good fight but i believe it will be all for not. most in the state are really anti gun and even pro gun folks seem to be hostile towards friendly gun loving outsiders such as myself.... when all i said was boy the gun laws here sure suck!
besides the gun laws... lets see what else is this communist state have to offer:
- MX dirt bikes are illegal in this state and you have to register them! If say you get something like a YZ250F you have to register it, they give you a red sticker and you are not allowed to ride it in the summer  WTF?
- seat belt laws are the worse and they really crack down in this state. billboards everywhere and cops will even give you a ticket even though you had your seatbelt on! or if you are coming from the airport in a cab!
- Taxes are outragous. Where does the money go? CA always seems like it is broke. I gave myself a $500 a month raise by just moving to Nevada! Even though my gross amount was the same, by not paying CA state tax I make an extra $500.
- helmet laws: had a friend who was tuning his dirtbike in his garage and he was in the garage on the bike just reving the crap out of it.. cop pulled up and asked him where was his helmet? so he gives him a ticket for not wearing a helmet.
- emmission laws suck: you guys are paying more for a CA emmsioned car even though it is 10% weaker! I never dynoed a car but seen CA motorcycles being dynoed and they suck ***!
Now there are lots of good things about CA but freedom seems almost all gone and it will only get worse. They did put a guy in jail for weeks just because he had legal guns, and debatable "illegal" gloves. Who would think to make gloves illegal? When I think the people CA will not allow any more new ridculous law to pass... it does!

I feel California has tons more to offer than places like Nevada. Top notch universities, good jobs, beaches, many interesting places to go, etc. Sure the gun laws are lenient in Nevada, but there is by far less things to do there. Las Vegas would get boring after a while, unless gambling is your life. Other states would be nice, but I call California my home. And those other reasons are not enough for a sane person to consider moving to another state.
Whateve floats your boat. But why not spend your free hours really free!
The way I see it there are only 168 hours in a week, However...
- you are working 50 of those hours,
- sleeping for 49 hours,
- 5 hours spent getting ready to go to work,
-10 hours going to and from work,
- 10 hours either eating, getting something to eat, or preparing something to eat
- 5 hours doing house stuff,
-3 hours running errands
So that means you really only have about 35 hours free each week! Might as well spend those hours as a free man! I like Guns, Golf, Dirtbiking, 4x4, Drinking, and Girls (in that order) and Vegas kicks *** for all these things. Vegas itself kicks a-$-$ and never gets old.
Then the holiday weekends and other 3 weeks I earn for vacation I can visit beautiful CA or Mexico, do stuff like hang out at the beach or the wine country.
as we say in New Hampshire "LIVE FREE OR DIE"

CA is NOT a high-tax state, try living in one of the poorer one's, like NC, we did for 5 years when everything fell apart around here, my wife even lost her $36/hour union nurse job. When we moved, we found income taxes were THREE times what they were in CA we paid $3000 one year in state income tax in NC and when we moved back it was only $1000, in spite of behing paid more here. and NC charged 7% sales tax on all food items, in CA there is no sales tax on food.

Okay, let's not emulate what we've seen.
Getting upset over this is not worth the headache or emotional investment.
Holding the high ground is it's own reward and can be more telling then any clever remark you could say.

The ammo forum is a technical forum and the stupid ant burning isn't tolerated like it is in General Discussion. The thread was reported for off topic discussion and CA-bashing, which is likely what got it locked. You just got the last punch in before the closure.

There was one quote that I felt was worth repeating
If you guys have noticed though. They know not to ban guns outright anymore. They will nitpick the ammo, accessories, and eventually make registration so stringent, people will just throw up their hands and quit. They are being sneaky, sly, and Democratic Party about it. This is evidenced by anyone running for the Democratic offices nowadays. They don't run commercials claiming they are anti-gun like they used to. They hide the fact, then try to sneak legislation through. How much more spineless than that does it get?
Ya know if the WH falls to a popular Democrat like Clinton
or Obama in 08, those who knock California will soon realize
they will be close to being in the same boat..I guess they've
forgotten it wasn't that long ago there was a Federal Assault
Weapons ban. The next one will REALLY be a ham stringer.

I think the big difference between calguns and other forums is one of...
FOCUS
...and you are all to be highly commended as it is a rare commodity. You are focused on California, on winning, on what is actually making a difference. And we ARE making a difference. Remember what 2006 looked like about this time and remember how that ALL turned out.
It takes a humongous amount of ignorance to spout garbage as is visible in that ar15.com thread - truely one-dimensional, emotional, hate-filled, frustration-borne thinking. And the kicker to me is, with over 40 states now enjoying relaxed CCW and more than that unfettered access to black guns, they can't have a clue about what REALLY fighting for your rights is all about! The huge majority have had everything done for them, handed to them, by the very group they critisize the loudest - NRA. And I've see it often - the rights they can enjoy freely are taken for granted frequently.
I'm sure there are very credible members on ar15.com, but they are not the most vocal. What rises above the cream is the trash that can only insult in the most base terms and express incredible stupidity. Always unfortunate when encountered, but nothing new. If I want to find gun-owners who critisize NRA's involvment in other states regarding issues they know nothing about, I know where to go. And ar15.com isn't alone - sadly, "bad attitude" is all too easy to locate. What is RARE is a place like calguns.net.
My philosophy on such detractors is they aren't worth the time. Those who are FOCUS-ed and can work together, regardless of minor differences - people like us have VERY important work to do. And, we have to carry the "do nothings" on our backs. When we lose, we'll get blamed and when we win, they won't notice. When just trying to spread the word to protect your rights earns a barrage of hatred, its a "pro-gun" forum that needs to look at itself carefully.

Gentlemen,
Have you traveled much?
Whenever I travel either vacationing or traveling for business in various states or countries I generally get the following:
1. How many people are here from the United States of America? ok... how many people are here from California? Ok great, "Hola! Como estas!" Has Mexico annexed you yet?
2. Oh! You are from Northern California... wink wink... so uhhmm... where are your earrings and how soft are your wrists?
3. Oh! You are from Southern California... so how often do you get drunk and party with "<insert name of drunk celebrity here>"
In short, the rest of the *WORLD* (sees California, as an ultra-lib socialist state - filled with SF sexual preference folks, Berkeley nut jobs, Hollywood barely dressed drunk girls, etc...)
* Why do they think that? Perhaps watch what the news says about California.
* Now do we know differently.... YES of course we do!
Now - not to pick on anyone... but I've seen some # of folks here - who have been repeating the same jokes about the French I myself said when I was a kid...
Aka, the French only know how to raise the "white flag" - a bunch of wimps.
But then, my adult love of military history... Made me realize that the road the French went down, is not much different than the road California has already gone down, and much of the US - is next...
Now, the "French Resistance" - the few patriotic people left in France, knew differently as well.
I guess in my own mind... I see Calguns folks, in the same way as the French Resistance. They / we - are the ones who are fighting against the overwhelming tides of Socialist / Communists in California...
But to the rest of the world... California, has already completely gone to the Socialist / Communists.
It is disheartening - to see folks on other non-CA forums, blow us off in the mode of "When they came for the .... - I said nothing because I was not a ... " - but then again... most people do not know history.
Perhaps a DVD video or History Channel, series - on how everyone throughout time - have previously lost their gun rights... would at least put all the gun owners on the same side.

I disagree. The French Resistance had to operate under threat of death in the dark of night. We can openly organize and fight a foe that is political, not physical, in the nature of it's intimidation.
Yet, sadly, so few of us do. If we could get 1% of the gun-owners in the state to get involved, we would not have to worry as much about gun control. But as keeper of the ONE-CLICK service, I can tell you that even here, many still do not ONE-CLICK when I post NRA's alerts.
The NRA Members' Councils of California have monthy meeting all over the state (the only state to have them!) - a great way to get more involved at whatever level you're comfortable with. You can find out where and when YOUR local "MC" meets at:
http://calnra.com/volunteer/
Folks, I'll guarentee a seat for you at that meeting. What can I do to get each of you to one?

Not a high tax state, try running a business here. It's not just gun laws, this state has a million stupid laws to cover every facet of ones life here. And the workers comp is F#&*ing outrages. I'm paying $20 per hundred of salary per employee. That's the highest in the nation. The AR15.com thread made me a bit mad. I used that site exclusively until I discovered Calguns. I'm glad there are a few people willing to help us outside California and I also wanted to say I'm VERY glad Calguns exists. Stand united, educate, and change will happen for the better....slowly but it will happen.

Unfortunately, as a business owner I know exactly what you mean. To rant further it seems that half of my time is taken up by all the bs laws, which most of my competitors ignore (but still get away with it).
