Well, some have seen my other thread on the Field Strip knob for the 10/22 TD. Since someone asked if it would work on a standard (non take down), I had to try it. Works like a charm, but the barrel band still needs to be taken off by hand/screw driver. So here is my latest addition to the barrel band. It works with both the new plastic band as well as the older metal bands.

What say ye CalGunners?!?

My father was a machinist for 30 years, he died in 2001. I never realized how much cool sh** he was able to do until he wasn't around to do it - I took it for granted that he could make ANYTHING.

He never wanted me to work as a machinist, so he pushed me away from ever really being interested in learning it. I wish he hadn't, although I make double what my father's max salary ever was, never come home dirty or physically worn out...it would have been a nice skill to have.

I've been a machinist for more than 30 years, my dad more than 50(still works) his dad was a machinist. That said your dad did you a favor!
