Yeah in Alaska?

Yep. Man I wish we could re-introduce some free roaming big old Brown bears in San Francisco . . . wonder if certain politicians might change their stance then. ;)

Maybe slow in Katmai where this camera is located. My folks are at their cabin at Kenai right now. They've caught about 60 sockeye salmon since Monday. Of course, I went Saturday and Sunday between runs, and caught nothing...:(

Heading to Anchorage a week from Monday. I'll be there for 4 days a week for 4-6 weeks. Hope to have some time to at least drop a line in the water. My afternoons should be pretty open.

Reds may be almost done by then. but silvers should be wide open in Seward, Check local fish reports and check with Crackerjack Charters in Seward he has a good rep. If you want a cheap place to bunk for night try Moby Dick Hostel in Seward. Clean and nice people. If in Soldotna the Eagle Watch in Ninilchik nice place great view of Ninilchik river valley. 40$ for own room with 2 bunks. 3 miles from highway and beach 37 miles to Homer.

Ninilchik has good clams too! Much better clamming than Clam Gulch.

I remember seeing the Kenai flanked with tons of combat fisherman when we passed by.

My folk's cabin is at the Kenai Keys area, off mile marker 78 on Sterling Highway. It takes about 48 hours for the fish to reach them from the AK Dept. Fish & Game sonar station (station is 19 miles up the mouth of the Kenai.) On the ADFG website, saw the Kenai sockeye count go down on the Thursday 20 around 28k salmon, and yup, it was reflected on Saturday when we caught nothing. The count went up to about 110k on Sunday, and my folks and their friends started catching the limit in just a few hours on Tuesday.
