its sad, but you should be aware of what is in your line of fire before shooting

Hopefully they took his BAC after the shooting, drinking while carrying in a bar would be a pretty stupid thing to do...hopefully he wasnt.

Also , getting into a bar fight is pretty stupid while carrying...sounds like a pissing contest got out of hand. You dont get into pissing contests while carrying.

" The off-duty officers got into an argument inside the bar with a group of people. "

The guy was a police officer for DLA..Defense Logistics Agency...they supply the military..

These guys should have known going to a bar with firearms is bad policy..Numerous agencies prohibit the carriage of firearms if you are going to drinking..

Sorry that this guy died but I hope his buddy fries for his stupidity!

Yea....I seem to have missed the part in most LE academy training ciriculum where LEOs are taught to shoot while under the influence. Could someone point me to that info?

Hah!!! Good point. During my time in Afghanistan, I had heard of at least three accidental shootings, and a great number of negligent discharges .... I was actually about 50 yards away from a negligent discharge of an AT4 (that was an eye opener, to say the least)!!! Yeah, right, only LEO and military should have guns.

Police are specially trained to handle... oh wait. Seriously though, you talk to the average anti and they think your average street LEO is some strange SOF/expert gunsmith hybrid.

I am the only one professional enough to handle a firearm in this classroom.... Comes to mind after your comment.
